Lagkadas Province was one of the two provinces of Thessaloniki Prefecture of Greece. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipalities Lagkadas and Volvi. [1] It was abolished in 2006.

It was built in the 1950s under an official government plan to house victims of the Greek Civil War and other families who did not own houses. Today is a popular destination for Greek and foreign tourists.

Askos, Sochos Place in Greece

Askos is a small mountain village in northern Greece, part of the municipality Lagkadas. It is located approximately 60 kilometers from Thessaloniki.

Epidavros Limira

Epidavros Limira was one of the provinces of the Laconia Prefecture, Greece. It was named after the ancient city Epidaurus Limera. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipalities Elafonisos and Monemvasia, and the municipal units Elos and Niata. It was abolished in 2006.

Giannitsa Province was one of the three provinces of Pella Prefecture of Greece. It was the largest province from the other two Edessa and Almopia and the base is the city of Giannitsa. It occupied the eastern part of the prefecture. It belongs to the Region of Central Macedonia. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Pella, and the municipal unit Meniida. It was abolished in 2006.

Arnaia Province was one of the provinces of the Chalkidiki Prefecture, Greece. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Aristotelis. It was abolished in 2006.

Mirampello was one of the 4 provinces in Lasithi Prefecture of Greece. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipality Agios Nikolaos, except the village Exo Potamoi. It was abolished in 2006.

The 2014–15 Greek A2 Basket League was the 29th season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The winner of the league was Kavala The clubs that were promoted to the top-tier Greek Basket League were Kavala, Arkadikos, and Lavrio. In contrast, the teams that were relegated to the third tier Greek B Basket League were Filippos Veria, Ermis Lagkada, and Ilysiakos Ilysiakos withdrew from the league in the middle of the season, because of economic debts. All the games of Ilysiakos were given back to their opponents with scores of 20–0.

Heracleium or Herakleion was a town of Bithynia, on the Propontis.

Harpagion was a town of the ancient Troad, or of Mysia mentioned by Thucydides. Its territory was called Harpageia or Harpagia (Ἁρπάγια). It lay between Priapus and Cyzicus, near the mouth of the river Granicus; it was in the Harpageia whence Ganymede is said to have been carried off. It belonged to the Delian League since it appears in tribute records of Athens between the years 448/7 and 429/8 BCE. Thucydides writes that three days after the Battle of Cynossema, the Athenians captured eight ships coming from Byzantium at Harpagion and Priapus.

Sangarus or Sangaros was a town of ancient Bithynia near the shore of the Propontis. In the 4th century, an early Christian sect, the Novatianists, held a synod here. Yitzhak ha-Sangari may have been a native.
