The Marist Brothers is a religious institute founded by St. Marcellin Champagnat, with more than 3,500 Catholic Brothers dedicated "to make Jesus Christ known and loved through the education of young people, especially those most neglected".

The Marist Brothers of the Schools, commonly known as simply the Marist Brothers, is an international community of Catholic religious institute of brothers. In 1817, Marcellin Champagnat, a Marist priest from France, founded the Marist Brothers with the goal of educating young people, especially those most neglected. While most of the brothers minister in school settings, others work with young people in parishes, religious retreats and spiritual accompaniment, at-risk youth settings, young adult ministry and overseas missions.
Marcellin Joseph Benedict Champagnat, FMS was a French Catholic religious born in Le Rosey, village of Marlhes, near St. Etienne (Loire), France. He was the founder of the Marist Brothers, a religious congregation of brothers in the Catholic Church devoted to Mary and dedicated to education. His feast day is 6 June, his death anniversary.

Lasallian educational institutions are educational institutions affiliated with the De La Salle Brothers, a Catholic religious teaching order founded by French priest Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle, who was canonized in 1900 and proclaimed by Pope Pius XII as patron saint of all teachers of youth on May 15, 1950. Notre Dame of Marbel University, also known by its acronym NDMU, is a private Catholic educational institution run by the Marist Brothers in Koronadal, South Cotabato, Philippines. It was founded in 1945 and offers pre-school, elementary, high school, college and postgraduate courses. It is the first Marist university in the Philippines since 1992, and it houses one of largest library in Southern Mindanao, known as NDMU Library. NDMU is the only university in Koronadal City and is considered to be the premier university and the prime academic institution in the province of South Cotabato. NDMU is a member of the Notre Dame Educational Association, a group of Notre Dame Schools in the Philippines under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also the Patroness of the University.
The Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU), also known as Notre Dame, is a private Catholic basic and higher education institution run by the Marist Brothers of the Schools or FMS in General Santos, South Cotabato, Philippines. It was founded by the Marist Brothers in 1953 and offers undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate programs as well as primary and secondary education. Furthermore, it offers a broad spectrum of academic programs through its colleges. It consists of four campuses in General Santos and Polomolok, South Cotabato — the main campus along Marist Avenue, the Lagao Campus where the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University-Integrated Basic Education Department (NDDU-IBED) is located, the Espina Campus, and Glamang Campus where the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology is located. Today, NDDU is the only private university in the city of General Santos.
The Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul is a private non-profit Catholic university. With campuses in the Brazilian cities of Porto Alegre and Viamão, it is the largest private university of the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the first university founded by the Catholic religious institute of the Marist Brothers.
