MTV Classic was an Italian television channel and play 1970s, 1980s and 1990s music videos with related chart hits. The channel is based on the Videomusic library and broadcast only on Sky Italia channel 705 however, it is also available on Italian IPTV services. Until 10 January 2011 the name of the channel was MTV Gold. The channel ended its broadcast on July 31, 2015.

Videomusic television channel

Videomusic was an Italian music channel and one of the first music channels in Europe. It was founded by Marialina Marcucci and Pier Luigi Stefani in early 1984. The channel used to be broadcast from a location called "Il Ciocco", near the Castelvecchio Pascoli, Frazione of Barga in the province of Lucca (Tuscany). It was developed by spreading its terrestrial signal to most of the Italian regions. Its brand became very popular among young people.

MTV Classic (UK & Ireland) television network

MTV Classic is a British pay television music channel from Viacom. The channel was launched in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 1 July 1999 as VH1 Classic. It focuses on music videos and music specials from the 1960s onwards, sometimes featuring music videos and concert footage from as early as at least the 1940s or 1950s, such as Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" from 1942. It has also occasionally aired videos from the 2000s and early 2010s. "Video Killed the Radio Star" by The Buggles, the first video to air on the original MTV in 1981, was also the first music video to be played when the channel was rebranded as MTV Classic on 1 March 2010. Every November and December on some dates of each year, MTV Classic will play Christmas-themed music branded as MTV Xmas. Since the rebrand, Viacom has rebranded other international channels as MTV Classic. On 1 May 2010, VH1 Australia was rebranded as MTV Classic and on 10 January 2011, MTV Networks Europe launched an Italian version of the same channel, replacing MTV Gold.

VH1 Classic (European TV channel) European television channel

VH1 Classic, also known as VH1 Classic European, is a music television channel from Viacom International Media Networks Europe. The channel primarily features music videos from the 1980s through to the 2000s (decade), although rare live performances from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s can be seen as well. VH1 Classic was first launched in the United Kingdom on 1 July 1999 and made available from the beginning to the whole of Europe. However, the current pan-European service was launched in 30 November 2004, when it became a separate feed from VH1 Classic UK. Like VH1 European, it broadcast from MTV Networks Europe's premises in Camden Town. It is officially available to viewers all over Europe and Latin America. Unlike VH1 Classic UK, the pan-European version of the channel is entirely devoid of advertisements, with round-the-clock music videos played out from MTV Networks Europe's comprehensive library in London.
