Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Limited is an Indian joint venture operation between TV18 and ViacomCBS based in Mumbai. [3] It was founded in November 2007 and owns various channels of ViacomCBS, as well as various consumer products in India.

In January 2010, Viacom 18 went international with the launch of Colors in the United States. The channel is called Aapka Colors. In July 2010, it got into 50/50 distribution joint venture with Sun Network to form Sun 18. [4] In December 2018, Viacom 18 launched Nickelodeon Sonic, targeting young adults. [5] The company also owns Viacom18 Studios. On 31 January 2018, TV18 announced its acquisition of Viacom's majority in the joint venture, taking operational control and leaving Viacom with minority interest. [6] On 1 October 2019, Viacom 18 launched Colors HD in Malaysia on Astro Malaysia; every serial will be served with Malay and English subtitles.[ citation needed ]

Colors Tamil Indian television channel

Colors Tamil is an Indian pay television channel launched by Viacom 18 on 19 February 2018 in Astro Malaysia Channel 233 (HD) and other countries. It primarily broadcasts Tamil-language TV series and some popular Hindi-language soap operas dubbed in Tamil.Colors Tamil's SD feed was rebranded from NXT, while the HD feed was previously known as ZAP.The channel partnership with Columbia pictures for Hollywood movies.

There are currently about 40 providers of over–the–top media services (OTT) in India, which distribute streaming media over the Internet. In fiscal year 2018, the OTT market in India was worth ₹2,150 crore, and its value grew to ₹35 billion in 2019.

ViacomCBS American mass media company

ViacomCBS Inc. is an American diversified multinational mass media conglomerate and formed through the merger of the second incarnation of CBS Corporation and the second incarnation of Viacom on December 4, 2019, which were split from the first incarnation of Viacom in 2006.
