The Mayor of Thames-Coromandel officiates over the Thames-Coromandel District of New Zealand, which is administered by a district council. The office has existed since 1975, when the Thames Borough and the Coromandel County were amalgamated.

Philippa Barribal was the first female mayor when she was elected in 2004. [1] The current Mayor is Len Salt.

The Thames-Coromandel District is a territorial authority district in the North Island of New Zealand, covering all the Coromandel Peninsula and extending south to Hikutaia.

Thames is a town at the southwestern end of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. It is located on the Firth of Thames close to the mouth of the Waihou River. The town is the seat of the Thames-Coromandel District Council. The Māori iwi are Ngāti Maru, who are descendants of Marutuahu's son Te Ngako. Ngāti Maru is part of the Ngati Marutuahu confederation of tribes or better known as Hauraki Iwi.

Sandra Anne Goudie is a New Zealand politician. She was the mayor of Thames-Coromandel from 2016 to 2022 when she resigned. She was the Member of Parliament for the Coromandel electorate from 2002 to 2011, representing the National Party. During the COVID-19 pandemic she was criticised for her anti-vaccination stance.

Murray Kaid McLean is a New Zealand politician. He was a National Party Member of Parliament from 1996 to 1999 and councillor at Thames-Coromandel District Council from 2010 to 2022.

The Moehau Range is the northernmost range on the Coromandel Peninsula, extending from the settlement of Colville, New Zealand northwards to the tip of the peninsula. Mount Moehau is the highest point of the range, at 892m above sea level.

The Mayor of Tauranga is the head of the municipal government of Tauranga, New Zealand, and presides over the Tauranga City Council. There is currently no Mayor of Tauranga. On 9 February 2021, a Crown Commission appointed by the Minister of Local Government took over all of the council's governance responsibilities, including the vacant position of Mayor. Tenby Powell resigned as Mayor in November 2020.

The Mayor of Invercargill is the head of the municipal government of Invercargill, New Zealand, and leads the Invercargill City Council. The mayor is directly elected using a First Past the Post electoral system every three years. The current mayor is Nobby Clark. Invercargill also has a deputy mayor that is chosen from the council. There have been 44 mayors so far.

The mayor of Nelson is the head of the municipal government of Nelson, New Zealand, and presides over the Nelson City Council. The mayor is directly elected using a single transferable vote electoral system. The current mayor is Nick Smith, who was elected in September 2022.

The Waikawau River is the name of two rivers of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand's North Island. The more southerly flows generally west from its sources in the Coromandel Range, reaching the Firth of Thames at Waikawau Beach, almost 6 km (3.7 mi) north of Tapu. The other flows south east off the Moehau Range to join the Pacific at Waikawau. Both rivers were officially named on 21 June 2019.

Onemana is a 1970s beach village on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand, with a beach, a surf club, fire station and dairy. It lies 3 km (1.9 mi) to the east of State Highway 25, south of Pauanui and north of Whangamatā. The Wharekawa River and Opoutere are just to the north and west.

Thames-Coromandel District Council is the territorial authority for the Thames-Coromandel District of New Zealand. The council consists of the mayor of Thames-Coromandel and 8 ward councillors. There are also five community boards.

Kopuarahi is a rural settlement and farming community in the Hauraki District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island.

Clyde Waldemar Graf is a New Zealand politician, anti-1080 activist, and convicted bank robber. He has served on the Waikato Regional Council from 2013 to 2016 and again since 2022.

Leonard Thomas Arthur Salt, better known as Len Salt, is a New Zealand local politician of Māori descent. He was elected Mayor of Thames-Coromandel District Council in 2022. In October 2023, the district council voted unanimously to support the establishment of a Māori ward or wards.
