New Rochelle is a city in Westchester County, New York, United States. It is a suburb of New York City, located approximately 17 miles (27 km) from Midtown Manhattan. In 2020, the city had a population of 79,726, making it the 7th-largest city and 22nd-most populous municipality in New York.

The Mitchel Athletic Complex is part of the Mitchel Field complex, located in Uniondale, New York, on the site of the decommissioned Mitchel Air Force Base. The facility is owned by Nassau County. The athletic complex was built in 1984 and was renovated in 1997; it hosted track and field and soccer events during the 1998 Goodwill Games. Mitchel Field is also home to Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College, Hofstra University, Lockheed Corporation, and the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

The Pelham Islands are a group of islands in western Long Island Sound that belonged to Thomas Pell in the 17th century. She is the head coach of the New York University men's soccer team, currently, the only women to lead a men's NCAA National Collegiate Athletic Association soccer program. Wyant and Sitch led their respective teams in a landmark game described by The New York Times as "Men vs. Men with Women in Charge.". Since her appointment as coach of NYU, Wyant has led NYU to three NCAA National Soccer Championship Tournaments, 2018, 2021, 2022.
Travers Island is a former island in Long Island Sound, located in the city of New Rochelle, New York. The island, originally united by a causeway to the mainland, comprises a tract of thirty acres in the Lower Harbor of New Rochelle, situated between Neptune Island, Glen Island, and Hunter Island in New York City's Pelham Bay Park. The narrow strip of water originally making it an island was eventually filled in, converting this tract into a peninsula.
