The Niue Football Association is the governing body of association football on Niue. The association was founded in 2021 as a successor to the now-defunct Niue Island Soccer Association. The current President is Deve Talagi.
In March 2021, following ten years of inactivity, the Niue Island Soccer Association was removed as an associate member of the Oceania Football Confederation for violations of multiple federation statutes. [2] However, at the time of the announcement an OFC official indicated that they were aware of the formation of the new Niue Football Association and welcomed its application for associate membership. [3]
In summer 2021 the NFA held its inaugural seven-a-side football season on the island with Deve Talagi, former vice-president of the NISA, [3] serving as the organisation's president. [1] The team from Vaiea won the first two editions of the men’s and women’s tournaments. [4]
In February 2022 the association unveiled its new logo, created by local designer Fakaaue lahi Tom Jnr Misikea with funding support from the government of Niue. [5]
In August 2023, winners were announced from a futsal men’s and women’s tournament. Vaiea were the champions of both tournaments. The first official 11v11 match in several years was also announced for November 2023. The match will be a representative team of the south vs the north of Niue. [6]

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is one of the six continental confederations of international association football. The OFC has 13 members, 11 of which are full members and two which are associate members not affiliated with FIFA. It promotes the game in Oceania and allows the member nations to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC that managed women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC.
The Niue national soccer team was the national soccer team of Niue, an associated state of New Zealand. The team played its only international games at the 1983 South Pacific Games. A 0–14 loss to Tahiti was followed by a 0–19 loss to Papua New Guinea.
The Federated States of Micronesia Football Association or FSMFA is the governing body of football in the Federated States of Micronesia, and of the national team. They are not a member of FIFA or a regional confederation.
Niue Soccer Tournament was the top soccer division in Niue on an amateur basis. It was organised by the Niue Island Soccer Association, which as of 2021 had been defunct for a decade.

The Australia national futsal team, nicknamed the Futsalroos, represents Australia in men's international futsal. The team is controlled by the governing body for soccer in Australia, Football Australia, which is currently a member of both the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the regional ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) since leaving the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) in 2006. The team's official nickname is the Futsalroos.
The Niue national rugby sevens team is a minor national sevens side. They have participated in two Commonwealth Games — in 2002 and 2006. They also compete in the Oceania Rugby Sevens Championship and the Pacific Games.

The sport of soccer in the country of Niue was previously run by the Niue Island Soccer Association, which as of 2021 was considered inactive for a decade. Despite OFC records showing their admission, the OFC accounts statements list them in the 2007-09 and 2012-15 statements, with the records showing 1200 NZD given in grants across that time. The national team was only ever active in the 1983 South Pacific Games. The association administered the national soccer team, as well as the Niue Soccer Tournament, but appears to have gone inactive prior to any women's tournaments being organised.
Association football is the most popular sport in Tuvalu. Football in Tuvalu is governed by the Tuvalu National Football Association (TNFA). The TNFA became an associate member association of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) on 15 November 2006 with a further reinstatement on 16 March 2020. The TNFA has been wanting to become a full member of the OFC and a member of FIFA since 1987.
The Tuvalu Islands Football Association is the governing body of football in Tuvalu. The association is responsible for the Tuvalu national football team and the Tuvalu national futsal team. Tuvalu is not a full member and is not affiliated with FIFA. It does not compete in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers because of its non-affiliation.

Niue High School is a secondary school in Alofi, the capital city of Niue. It is located on the Alofi-Liku Road and, as of 2010, has 175 students in attendance. The school caters for years 7 to 13. Within the school is the Paliati Grounds, which reportedly has a capacity of 1,000 and is where Niuean association football teams play.
Raphael Ohanua Lea'i Jr. is a Solomon Islands professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Solomon Islands national team. He is the first Solomon Islands player to have played professional football in Europe.
Stan Kalauni is a Niuean politician and businessman, and former member of the Niuean Assembly.
Vaiea United FC is a Niue football club from Vaiea that currently competes in the Niue Soccer Tournament, the top tier competition on the island. The club plays its home matches at the Vaiea Ground. With five league championships, it is Niue's most successful football club.
The Paliati Grounds is the multi-use national stadium of the Pacific Island nation of Niue. The stadium has a capacity of 1,000 spectators. It is located adjacent to the Niue High School and the Niue campus of the University of the South Pacific.
