Provincial Hospital Bhadrapur, formally known as Mechi Provincial Hospital is a government hospital located in Bhadrapur Municipality, in Koshi Province of Nepal. [1] It is providing health services focusing to the poor and under-privileged people of Jhapa District of Koshi Province. [2] [3]

History

It was established as a 25 bedded hospital in 2015 BS (1958-1959). In 2034 BS (1977-1978), it was upgraded as a 50 bedded hospital. Eventually with the growing demand for healthcare services in Mechi Zone it got expanded to 134 beds. It is the largest hospital in Mechi Zone and the second-largest government hospital in Koshi Province, after the Koshi Hospital. [4] [5]

Mechi Highway or NH02 is a two-lane freeway in Koshi Province, spanning about 268 kilometers in length. The highway connects all the districts of former Mechi zone, hence the name Mechi. It runs from the Village Development Committee of Kechana in Jhapa district in the south to the remote north of Taplejung through the district of Ilam. The main destinations along the highway include Prithivinagar, Bhadrapur, Duhagadhi, Budhabare, Kanyam and Phikkal. The highway shares a junction with Mahendra Highway at Charali.
