Delaware is a city in and the county seat of Delaware County, Ohio, United States. Delaware was founded in 1808 and was incorporated in 1816. It is located near the center of Ohio, about 30 miles (48 km) north of Columbus as part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The population was 41,302 at the 2020 census.

Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium is a 10,000-capacity stadium located in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The stadium is home of the Ohio State Buckeyes men's and women's lacrosse teams as well as the soccer and track and field teams. The stadium opened for soccer in the fall of 2001. It also hosts the OHSAA boys and girls track and field State Tournament. It is named after former OSU athlete, Jesse Owens, with that honor transferred from the cinder track of Ohio Stadium, which then had football seating expanded over its footprint after the opening of this venue. Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time Olympic gold medalist at the 1936 Games in Berlin, Germany.

The 2016 Major League Lacrosse season was the 16th season of Major League Lacrosse. The season featured 9 teams after the addition of the Atlanta Blaze via expansion. It was the first season since 2008 that the league fielded more than eight teams. The defending champion New York Lizards are coming off their third Steinfeld Cup victory in franchise history and first since 2003 after defeating the Rochester Rattlers 15–12 August 8, 2015 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia. On August 20, the Denver Outlaws won their second Steinfeld Cup trophy in three years, coming back to defeat the Ohio Machine, 19–18.
The Valley Dale Ballroom is a historic building in Columbus, Ohio. Constructed in 1925, it became a nationally known ballroom during the Big Band era of the 1930s and 1940s. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1985.
