V O Chidambaranar park and zoo (abbreviated VOC park) is a zoological garden and amusement park located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. As of 2013, the park houses around 890 animals including 335 birds, 106 mammals and 54 reptiles. [3] The park is named after freedom fighter V O Chidambaram Pillai and is managed by Coimbatore city Corporation.
There is a park, children's play area and ground associated with the zoo. The park also has a toy train, Jurassic Park and aquarium. [4] The grounds are used for conducting fairs and events including the annual Independence day and Republic day celebrations. [5] The park has over 200 species of trees including Sandalwood. [6] A rosy pelican hatchling was born in the zoo after 14 yrs, this species is known to have a low fertility rate. [7]
The park opened from 4.00PM To 7.30PM on weekdays and 10.00AM to 7.30PM on weekends. Tuesday is Holiday. The zoo is currently temporarily closed for visitors.
The park has 29 species of mammals, birds including rosy pelican, Sarus Crane, Adjutant Stork, night heron [8] and reptiles. [1]

Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, is a bird sanctuary in the Mandya District of Karnataka in India. It is the largest bird sanctuary in the state, 40 acres (16 ha) in area, and comprises six islets on the banks of the Kaveri river. In 2018 it was announced that the zoo will be converted into a bird park with large aviaries. Large carnivores have already left the Jaipur zoo.
Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden located in Vandalur, to southwest of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, about 31 kilometres (19 mi) from the Chennai Central and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Chennai Airport. Established in 1855, it is the second public zoo in India. It is affiliated with the Central Zoo Authority of India. Spread over an area of 602 hectares, including a 92.45-hectare (228.4-acre) rescue and rehabilitation centre. The zoo houses 2,553 species of flora and fauna across 1,265 acres (512 ha). As of 2012 the park houses around 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species, in its 160 enclosures. As of 2010, there were about 47 species of mammals, 63 species of birds, 31 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians, 28 species of fishes, and 10 species of insects in the park. The park, with an objective to be a repository of the state's fauna, is credited with being the second wildlife sanctuary in Tamil Nadu after Mudumalai National Park.

The Kurumbapatti Zoological Park is a second largest zoo in Tamil Nadu next to Arignar Anna Zoological Park, situated in the foothills of the Shervaroyan Hills, 10 km from Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. It was set up in 1981 as a small museum and was later extended to 69 Ha. The zoo houses many species of wildlife, with monkeys as the major attraction, and is in the vicinity of reserve forest, permitting visitors the opportunity to also experience the flora and fauna there. The park has a gentle topography, areas of bamboo and woodland and semi-perennial streams. Facilities include a children's playground area.

Vellalore Lake is a lake in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The lake is spread over an area of 90 acres and the green zone around the lake attracts over 80 species with its native trees and flowers. After being dry for over two decades, the lake came alive again in 2018 due to the efforts of the district administration and NGOs. In April 2023, Kovai Kulangal Padhukappu Amaippu and the district administration launched work to set up a Butterfly Park.
