The Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences is a skyscraper currently under construction in Miami, Florida. It is the first supertall building (>300 meters or 1,000 ft) to begin construction in Florida, out of several that have been proposed in Miami in the 21st century. It is planned to be constructed on the proposed site of the Empire World Towers in the 2000s, which was ultimately scaled back and cancelled.
The building is planned to rise to the maximum allowable height in downtown Miami of 1,049 ft (320 meters) above sea level, or about 1,040 ft (317 meters) above ground, [1] [2] making it easily the tallest building in Miami and Florida, surpassing the Panorama Tower built in 2017. Construction began in late 2022 and is expected to complete in 2027. It is located on Biscayne Boulevard between NE 3rd and 4th Streets in the Central business district of Greater Downtown Miami, across from Bayfront Park. The design is inspired by stacked and cantilevered boxes; it will have nine such cubes with 10 to 11 floors each, comprising nearly 100 stories of condominium and hotel space, topped by a five floor penthouse with over 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) [3] It is named after the Waldorf Astoria New York in New York City; worldwide Waldorf Astoria hotels are managed under the Hilton Hotels group.
The Empire World Towers were two proposed supertall skyscrapers to be built in Miami, Florida in the United States. The complex consists of the Empire World Tower I and the Empire World Tower II. If completed, both towers would stand at 1,022 feet, with 93 stories each. They would surpass the Panorama Tower and become the city and state's tallest buildings, since the approved One Bayfront Plaza had been reduced to a height of 1,010 ft. The towers were not built, but in 2023 the supertall Waldorf Astoria Miami began construction on the same block at 300 Biscayne Boulevard.
Panorama Tower is a mixed-use 85-story skyscraper in Miami, Florida, United States. Located in the Brickell district of Downtown Miami, it is the tallest building in Miami, and the tallest building in Florida.
CCCC Miami Towers is the preliminary name for a mixed-use project being planned in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. The site is bounded by South Miami Avenue to the east, SW 14th Terrace to the south, SW 1st Avenue to the west, and SW 14th Street to the north. The site broke ground in 2006 and was excavated for a previous project that stalled known as Capital at Brickell. It was revived in 2014 by China City Construction Corp, an affiliate of China Communications Construction Company.
One Bayfront Plaza is a proposed supertall skyscraper in Miami, Florida, U.S. The building, construction of which has been approved, would stand at 1,049 feet (320 m), with 93 floors,[A] becoming the tallest building in Miami and Florida. One Bayfront Plaza would primarily consist of offices and hotel space, but also would include a retail mall, condominiums, and parking garage on the lower levels, as well as possibly an observation deck at the top. The entire project consists of over 1,400,000 square feet (100,000 m2) of Class A office and hotel space, as well as a total building area of over 4,000,000 square feet (371,612 m2) including the large podium. One Bayfront Plaza is the first skyscraper over 1,000 feet (305 m) to be approved for construction in Miami. The building's primary advocate was real estate developer Tibor Hollo, who has won several awards for his 55 years as a developer in Miami, and is currently the president of Florida East Coast Realty.
Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and Residence Tower Chicago is a planned hotel and condominium skyscraper that would have been 1,265 feet (386 m) tall. The Prime Group was in charge of the project, which was proposed at a cost of $610 million. The building would have been located one block from the Chicago River, and north of the Sheraton Chicago in the Streeterville neighborhood of the Near North Side community area of Chicago. Another of the building's developers, the Fordham Company, was also the initial developer of the now-cancelled Chicago Spire.
The Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead is a 580 ft tall combination hotel/condominium building skyscraper in Atlanta, Georgia. It was constructed from 2006 to 2008 and has 42 floors.
