On 3 March 2009 the ISO 3166-1 code for Venezuela changed to reflect the VE used for the ccTLD.

Registrants of .us domains must be U.S. citizens, residents, or organizations, or a foreign entity with a presence in the United States. Most registrants in the U.S. have registered for .com, .net, .org and other gTLDs, instead of .us, which has primarily been used by state and local governments, even though private entities may also register .us domains.
.ar is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Argentina. It is administered by NIC Argentina. Registering an .ar domain directly is now allowed. Previously, only 9 of the second-level domains listed below were open for registration, and a local presence in Argentina was required. Recently the extension has become synonymous with Augmented Reality and is being by many prominent AR and XR startups.
