The 2011 Madison mayoral election was held February 20 and April 4, 2003 to elect the mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. It saw former mayor Paul Soglin return to the mayoralty by unseating incumbent mayor Dave Cieslewicz.
The election was nonpartisan.

David J. Cieslewicz, commonly referred to as Mayor Dave during his term, is an American politician who was the mayor of Madison, Wisconsin from 2003 to 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Paul R. Soglin is an American politician and former three-time Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin, having served a total of 22 years in that office between 1973 and 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he was a candidate for Governor of Wisconsin in the 2018 Democratic primary.
Susan J. M. Bauman is an attorney and former politician. She was the first woman to be elected Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. Bauman worked as an 8th grade mathematics teacher in the Madison Public School system for eight years, and became President of the teachers' union, Madison Teachers, Incorporated (MTI). Bauman, along with MTI Executive Director John Matthews, led a two-week strike commencing January 5, 1976. Two years later, Bauman left teaching and pursued a law degree, graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1981. After serving for twelve years as an Alderperson on the Madison City Council, Bauman was elected Mayor on April 1, 1997 to fill the unexpired term of Paul Soglin, who resigned to run for Congress. Two years later, on April 6, 1999, Bauman was elected to a full four-year term, having defeated Eugene Parks. In 2003, Bauman sought re-election, but failed to place among the top two candidates in the primary election, and was therefore not on the ballot for the general election. She was succeeded by Dave Cieslewicz.

Evers, along with his running mate Mandela Barnes, managed to defeat Walker and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch in a closely fought and widely watched race, ending unified Republican control of the state. This was the only state in the 2018 United States gubernatorial elections to elect a Democratic governor while voting more Republican than the national average.

Shelia R. Stubbs is an American politician, pastor, and former probation and parole agent. She is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, elected in 2018, representing the south and west parts of Madison, Wisconsin. She is also a member of the Dane County Board of Supervisors, since 2006; she is the only African American on the County Board and is Dane County's first African American representative in the Wisconsin Legislature.
Satya Rhodes-Conway is an American politician. She was a member of the Madison Common Council between 2007 and 2013. In 2019, Rhodes-Conway was elected Mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. She is the first out lesbian and first openly LGBTQ person elected to that office, and only the second woman to hold the post.

Samba Baldeh is a Gambian American immigrant, information technology professional, and politician. A Democrat, he is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 48th assembly district, comrpising the northeastern half of the city of Madison. He is the first Muslim member of the Wisconsin Legislature. Before his election to the Assembly, he served six years on the Madison City Council, and was president of the City Council from 2018 to 2019.
