Warren Perley Knowles III was an American lawyer and politician, and was the 37th Governor of Wisconsin. Prior to that, he was the 32nd and 34th Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, and represented St. Croix, Buffalo, Pepin, and Pierce Counties in the Wisconsin Senate for fourteen years.
The 1994 Wisconsin gubernatorial election was held on November 8, 1994. In the midst of the Republican Revolution, incumbent Republican governor Tommy Thompson won the election with a landslide 67% of the vote, winning a third term as Governor of Wisconsin.

As of 2022, this is the last time that Shawano County did not vote for the Republican nominee for governor and the last time Dodge County voted Democratic for governor.
