The 13th National Games of China were held in Tianjin and Luoyang, Henan, from August to September 2017.
In the 13th National Games bidding process, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Zhejiang and Hubei were the candidates. Tianjin was announced as host of 2017 National Games of China. [1] [2]
A total of 341 events in 31 sports were held at the games. [3]
A total of 10,217 athletes from 38 delegations took part in the competition (fewer than both the 2005 and 2009 editions). Among the delegations were 4 municipalities, 22 provincial teams and 5 autonomous regions. Further to this, the People's Liberation Army sent a team, and six sports association teams were entered (generally associations from specific industry groupings or large organisations).

Tianjin, alternately romanized as Tientsin, is a municipality and a coastal metropolis in Northern China on the shore of the Bohai Sea. It is one of the nine national central cities in Mainland China, with a total population of 13,866,009 inhabitants during the 2020 Chinese census. Its built-up area, made up of 12 central districts, was home to 11,165,706 inhabitants and is also the world's 29th-largest agglomeration and 11th-most populous city proper.
The Port of Tianjin, formerly known as the Port of Tanggu, is the largest port in Northern China and the main maritime gateway to Beijing. The name "Tianjin Xingang", which strictly speaking refers only to the main seaport area, is sometimes used to refer to the whole port. The port is on the western shore of the Bohai Bay, centred on the estuary of the Haihe River, 170 km southeast of Beijing and 60 km east of Tianjin city. It is the largest man-made port in mainland China, and one of the largest in the world. It covers 121 square kilometers of land surface, with over 31.9 km of quay shoreline and 151 production berths at the end of 2010.
The 12th National Games of China were held in the northeastern province of Liaoning from 31 August to 12 September 2013. Liaoning was the sixth provincial level host of the games, following Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shandong. A total of 350 events in 31 sports were held at the games.
The 2022 Asian Games, officially known as the 19th Asian Games, also known as Hangzhou 2022,, will be a multi-sport event celebrated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Hangzhou will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.
Wang Han is a retired Chinese diver who specialises in the 1 meter and 3 meter springboard events. Wang won a silver medal in the 1 meter springboard event at the 2011 World Aquatics Championships.

Tianjin Free-Trade Zone, officially China (Tianjin) Pilot Free-Trade Zone is a free-trade zone in Tianjin, China. It is the only free-trade zone in North China. The zone covers three areas — Tianjin Airport Economic Area, Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone and Binhai New Area Central Business District.

On December 27, 2015, Chang was placed under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He is the first head of telecommunications in China implicated since the beginning of Xi Jinping's anti-corruption drive after he took power in late 2012.

The 13th National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China was elected from October 2017 to February 2018 and will be in session in the five-year period from 2018 to 2023. It is scheduled to hold five sessions in this period, occurring around early March every year until before 2023, when the 14th National People's Congress will first convene.
Tianjin Grand Theatre, also known as the Tianjin Cultural Centre Grand Theatre, is located on the east side of the Tianjin Cultural Centre, Hexi District, Tianjin City, People's Republic of China. It is the largest venue in the Tianjin Cultural Centre. Designed by German GMP architectural company, the theatre adopts the style of modernist architecture. The construction of the Tianjin Grand Theatre started in 2009, completed and put into use on April 22, 2012. Its total construction space amounts to 105,000 m². The theatre can seat 3,600 people, and costs 1.533 billion RMB in total.
Weightlifting was part of the 2017 National Games of China held in Tianjin. Men competed in eight and women in seven weight classes. Since the beginning of 2017 the International Weightlifting Federation holds an equal number of men's and women's classes with the introduction of the women's 90 kg category. As of August 2017 the Chinese Weightlifting Association had not yet followed suit.
The Sixth Asian Beach Games is due to be held in Sanya, China. Sanya would be the second Chinese city to host the Asian Beach Games, after Haiyang 2012.
At the 2017 National Games of China, the athletics events were held at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium in Tianjin, People's Republic of China from 2–7 September 2017. The marathon events were held in April, prior to the main track and field competitions. The marathon events were held on 29 April and started in a square in the Wuqing District of Tianjin and included a women's team marathon competition as well as amateur races. A total of 46 events were contested – 22 men's events, 23 women's events and one mixed-sex medley relay event over 1600 m.
The People's Republic of China competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. China won 289 medals, leading the medal count for the tenth time in Asian Games history.

Jin Xianzhai is a Chinese oncologist, who created the first cancer ward, the first oncology journal Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology (《中国肿瘤临床》) and China's first oncologist organization, the Anti-Cancer Society of China (中国抗癌协会). He educated many Chinese oncologists in the early years after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and is known as the "Father of Chinese Oncology".
The Eighth National Games of the People’s Republic of China was held in Shanghai from October 12 to 24, 1997. The participating delegations included 46 delegations from all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, the People’s Liberation Army, and 13 trade associations. It was the first time that the SAR Hong Kong and the Chongqing Municipality have organized a team to participate in the National Games.
The 14th National Games of China (中华人民共和国第十四届运动会), commonly known as Shaanxi 2021 (陕西2021), was a multi-sports event held throughout Shaanxi from September 15 to 27, 2021. It is projected that the Games will attract around 20,000 athletes who will compete in 409 events in 35 sports. This will be the first event in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Quan Hongchan is a Chinese diver, national champion, and Olympic champion. She won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the individual 10-metre platform event.
