The town is located just west of Wisconsin Highway 81, approximately halfway between the cities of Platteville and Lancaster.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 36.2 square miles (93.6 km2), all of it land.
At the 2000 census there were 608 people, 191 households, and 158 families living in the town. The population density was 16.8 people per square mile (6.5/km2). There were 208 housing units at an average density of 5.8 per square mile (2.2/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 99.34% White, and 0.66% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.33%. [2]
Of the 191 households 42.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.2% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.8% were non-families. 10.5% of households were one person and 3.1% were one person aged 65 or older.
