Energy in Macau

Energy in Macau is related to all of the type of energy and its related infrastructure used in Macau, China. Energy-related affairs is administered under the Secretariat for Transport and Public Works of the Government of Macau.

In physics, energy is the quantitative property that must be transferred to an object in order to perform work on, or to heat, the object. Energy is a conserved quantity; the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed. The SI unit of energy is the joule, which is the energy transferred to an object by the work of moving it a distance of 1 metre against a force of 1 newton.

Macau or Macao, officially the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is a special administrative region on the western side of the Pearl River estuary in southern China. With a population of 653,100 in an area of 32.9 km² (12.7 sq mi), it is the most densely populated region in the world.

China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area. Governed by the Communist Party of China, the state exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities, and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

Natural gas

Macau import its natural gas supply from Hengqin Island in Zhuhai, Guangdong. The pipeline has a capacity of 520 million m³ of natural gas per year. The sole gas importer in Macau is Sinosky Energy (Holdings) Co. Ltd. (Chinese :中天能源控股有限公司).^[1]

Natural gas is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon gas mixture consisting primarily of methane, but commonly including varying amounts of other higher alkanes, and sometimes a small percentage of carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, or helium. It is formed when layers of decomposing plant and animal matter are exposed to intense heat and pressure under the surface of the Earth over millions of years. The energy that the plants originally obtained from the sun is stored in the form of chemical bonds in the gas.

Zhuhai is a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong province in China. Located in the Pearl River Delta, Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south. Zhuhai was one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s. Zhuhai is also one of China's premier tourist destinations, being called the Chinese Riviera. While the city is located in the traditionally Cantonese-speaking region of Guangdong Province, a significant portion of population is now made up of Mandarin speaking economic migrants originally from inland provinces.

Guangdong is a province in South China, on the South China Sea coast. Guangdong surpassed Henan and Shandong to become the most populous province in China in January 2005, registering 79.1 million permanent residents and 31 million migrants who lived in the province for at least six months of the year; the total population was 104,303,132 in the 2010 census, accounting for 7.79 percent of Mainland China's population. This also makes it the most populous first-level administrative subdivision of any country outside of South Asia, as its population is surpassed only by those of the Pakistani province of Punjab and the Indian states of Bihar, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The provincial capital Guangzhou and economic hub Shenzhen are among the most populous and important cities in China. The population increase since the census has been modest, the province registering 108,500,000 people in 2015.

Petroleum

Petroleum and other petrochemical products in Macau is handled by Nam Kwong Petroleum & Chemical Co., Ltd. (NKOIL; Chinese :南光石油化工有限公司) from its trading, storage, transportation, wholesale and retail, including the installation and maintenance of gas and fuel supply system.^[2]^[3]

Traditional Chinese characters are Chinese characters in any character set that does not contain newly created characters or character substitutions performed after 1946. They are most commonly the characters in the standardized character sets of Taiwan, of Hong Kong and Macau, and in the Kangxi Dictionary. The modern shapes of traditional Chinese characters first appeared with the emergence of the clerical script during the Han Dynasty, and have been more or less stable since the 5th century.

Water supply

Water supply in Macau is handled by Macao Water.

China Petrochemical Corporation or Sinopec Group is the world's largest oil refining, gas and petrochemical conglomerate, administered by SASAC for the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is headquartered at Chaoyangmenwai in Beijing, across the road from the headquarters of fellow state-owned oil company and competitor CNOOC Group.

Nanjing Ange Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a pharmaceutical company in Nanjing, in the People's Republic of China, specializing in the development of “New Drugs” as well as the research, development, production and trade of chemical APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates.

Wang Tianpu, is a Chinese chemical engineer and CEO. He was the former president of Sinopec, one of the three largest state-owned oil companies in China. On April 27, 2015, Wang was placed under investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Chinese Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He expelled from the Communist Party on September 18, 2015. Two years later, he was sentenced to 15 years and 6 months in prison for graft.

The Port of Tianjin is divided into nine areas: the three core areas of Beijiang, Nanjiang, and Dongjiang around the Xingang fairway; the Haihe area along the river; the Beitang port area around the Beitangkou estuary; the Dagukou port area in the estuary of the Haihe River; and three areas under construction.

The Macao Water Supply Company Limited or Macao Water in short, is a company dealing with water supply in Macau, China.

The Port of Huizhou is a natural coastal port located on Huizhou, Guangdong, People's Republic of China, immediately east of Shenzhen and Hong Kong It opens into the Daya Bay. Started only 20 years ago, it has moved from a fishing village to another large player in the Pearl River Delta shipping hub. In 2012, its total cargo throughput was 51,18 million tonnes.

Type 639 is a type of ocean surveillance ship is the newest oceanographic surveillance ship developed by China for its People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). Zhuhai National High-Tech Industrial Development District was established in December, 1992 by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is also called Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It has an initial area of 9.8 square kilometers. Following a 1999 adjustment, it now includes four industrial parks: Nanping (南屏), Sanzao (三灶), Baijiao (白蕉) and Xinqing (新青), and an innovation coast.

Yingda International Trust Co., Ltd. is a Chinese trust company and asset management firm that was majority owned by State Grid Corporation of China. Yingda Trust was founded in March 1987, as Jinan International Trust and Investment Corporation. Yingda Trust owned Yingda Asset Management for 49% stake. The company was headquartered in Jinan, but in 2010 moved to Beijing.

Henryda Chemical is a chemical plant in the Xiangshui Ecological Chemical Industrial Park, Jiangsu, China. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Wuzhong Group Co. Ltd..
