The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) is the governing body of football in the state of Odisha, India. [1] The Odisha football team and Odisha women's football team are administered by the Football Association of Odisha. The FAO is affiliated with the All India Football Federation, the national administrating body for football in India. [2]

Contents

History

It was formed in 1949 and was made into an independent registered body in 1961. [3] The organisation was renamed after the committee of Orissa Football Association was dissolved due to litigation in 2010. [4] [5] [6]

Rising Students Club is a professional multisports club based in Cuttack, Odisha, India. The club plays in the FAO League, the fourth tier of Indian football and top tier of Odisha state football. Rising Students Club were the champions of the Indian Women's League in the 2017–18 season.

The 2018 FAO League was the ninth season of the FAO League. Radha Raman Club were the defending champions. Chauliaganj FC entered as the promoted team from the FAO 2nd Division League. The FAO League is organised every year by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), the official football governing body of Odisha, India. The regular season started on 17 August 2018. Sunrise Club became champions of the 2018 edition of the league, winning their fourth title.

The 2019 FAO League was the tenth season of the FAO League, the top Odia professional football league, since its establishment in 2010. Sunrise Club were the defending champions whereas Bidanasi Club were relegated from the Diamond League last season and played in the Gold League in the 2019 edition. The FAO League is annually organised by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), the official football governing body of Odisha, India. The regular season started on 24 July. Sunrise Club were the defending champions, ending up at the top with sixteen points having a positive goal difference of fifteen. Odisha Police ended their 2018 FAO League stage at the runners-up spot with sixteen points, having a positive goal difference of nine.

Pinky Bompal Magar is an Indian former footballer who played as a forward. She was elected as a member of the technical committee of the All India Football Federation in September 2022.

The 2022 FAO League was the eleventh season of the FAO League, the top Odia professional football league, since its establishment in 2010. Sports Hostel were the defending champions. FAO League is annually organised by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO), the official football governing body of Odisha, in association with Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha.

The 2024–25 season will be the 137th competitive association football season in India. The domestic season begins in July 2024.

Nita Football Academy is an Indian women's professional football club and academy based in Radha Damodarpur, Cuttack, Odisha. It is the first private residential football academy of Odisha, dedicated to promoting football among underprivileged girls. They are the current champions of the Odisha Women's League and Khelo India State Championships U-17. Many of the academy students have represented at sub-junior, junior, and senior national levels. They finished runners-up in the 2023–24 season of the Indian Women's League 2, which enabled promotion to the top tier Indian Women's League.

Crispin Chettri is an Indian professional football manager and former footballer, who is currently the head coach of Indian Women's League club Odisha. He has also represented India at the youth level internationally.
