The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) is the governing body of football in the state of Odisha, India. [1] The Odisha football team and Odisha women's football team are administered by the Football Association of Odisha. The FAO is affiliated with the All India Football Federation, the national administrating body for football in India. [2]
It was formed in 1949 and was made into an independent registered body in 1961. [3] The organisation was renamed after the committee of Orissa Football Association was dissolved due to litigation in 2010. [4] [5] [6]

Association football is one of the most popular sports in India. The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was the first FIFA event the country hosted. It was called the most successful FIFA U-17 World Cup ever, with a record-breaking attendance of 1,347,133, exceeding China's record of 1,230,976 from 1985. India also hosted the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and bid to host the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Rising Students Club is a professional multisports club based in Cuttack, Odisha, India. The club plays in the FAO League, the fourth tier of Indian football and top tier of Odisha state football. Nita Football Academy is an Indian women's professional football club and academy based in Radha Damodarpur, Cuttack, Odisha. It is the first private residential football academy of Odisha, dedicated to promoting football among underprivileged girls. They are the current champions of the Odisha Women's League and Khelo India State Championships U-17. Many of the academy students have represented at sub-junior, junior, and senior national levels. They finished runners-up in the 2023–24 season of the Indian Women's League 2, which enabled promotion to the top tier Indian Women's League.
Crispin Chettri is an Indian professional football manager and former footballer, who is currently the head coach of Indian Women's League club Odisha. He has also represented India at the youth level internationally.
