Gifford Pinchot was an American forester and politician. Pinchot served as the first Chief of the United States Forest Service from 1905 until his firing in 1910, and was the 28th Governor of Pennsylvania, serving from 1923 to 1927, and again from 1931 to 1935. He was a member of the Republican Party for most of his life, though he also joined the Progressive Party for a brief period.

She also occasionally appears on the first three hours of Today and is a contributing NBC News correspondent.

After a 12-year playing career as a halfback and flanker for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL), he was a play-by-play announcer and commentator for 27 years on ABC's Monday Night Football.

The Joseph Garneau Jr. House, later called the Thomas Kilpatrick House, is located at 3100 Chicago Street in the Gifford Park neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Built in 1890 for cracker magnate Joseph Garneau Jr., it changed hands in 1903 when Garneau moved to New York City to set up a wine importing business. Thomas Kilpatrick lived in the house until his death in 1916.

On January 8, 2011, U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords and eighteen others were shot during a constituent meeting held in a supermarket parking lot in Casas Adobes, Arizona, in the Tucson metropolitan area. Six people died, including federal District Court Chief Judge John Roll; Gabe Zimmerman, one of Giffords' staffers; and a nine-year-old girl, Christina-Taylor Green. Giffords was holding the meeting, called "Congress on Your Corner", in the parking lot of a Safeway store when Jared Lee Loughner drew a pistol and shot her in the head before proceeding to fire on other people. One additional person was injured in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. News reports identified the target of the attack to be Giffords, a Democrat representing Arizona's 8th congressional district. She was shot through the head at point-blank range, and her medical condition was initially described as "critical".

Gifford Pinchot State Park is a 2,338-acre (946 ha) Pennsylvania state park in northern York County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The park is undeveloped and is the site of farm fields and wooded hillsides. The 340-acre (140 ha) Pinchot Lake is an important recreation site featuring prime bass fishing. There are several trails that pass through the park, including the Mason-Dixon Trail. Environmental education programs are provided at the park. A campground featuring a playground, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits is located at Gifford Pinchot State Park.
