Kartika Airlines was an airline based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It operated domestic services from Jakarta. Its main base was Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. [1] Kartika Airlines is listed in category 2 by Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority for airline safety quality. [2]
The airline was established in 2001 and started operations on 15 May 2001. It is wholly owned by PT Truba. The airline was grounded in November 2004 and resumed services on 15 June 2005, before finally ceasing operations in 2010. Kartika Airlines was among the Indonesian carriers blacklisted by the European Union Civil Aviation Authority. [3] [4]

Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, abbreviated SHIA or Soetta, formerly legally called Jakarta Cengkareng Airport, is the primary airport serving the Jakarta metropolitan area on the island of Java in Indonesia. Named after the first president and vice-president of Indonesia, Sukarno (1901–1970) and Mohammad Hatta (1902–1980), the airport is located at Benda, Tangerang and Cengkareng, West Jakarta, which is about 20 km northwest of Central Jakarta. Together with Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport, they served over 80 million passengers in 2019.

PT. Metro Batavia, operating as Batavia Air, was an airline based in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Surabaya. Until January 31, 2013, the airline operated domestic flights to around 42 destinations and several nearby regional international destinations, and Saudi Arabia. Its main base was Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta. Batavia Air was listed in category 1 on the Indonesian Civil Aviation Authority airline safety rating. On January 31, 2013, at 12:00 local time, Batavia Air ceased operations after the Central Jakarta Regional Court granted a bankruptcy appeal by ILFC, the international aircraft lessor, saying that the airline owed US$4.68 million in debts, a debt that Batavia Air failed to repay after a series of financial difficulties.

Tigerair Mandala was a low-cost carrier headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was founded in 1969, by members of the Indonesian military dictatorship, as a full service airline. In 2006, as part of the ongoing reforms following the dictatorship ending in 1998, the military was forced to sell Mandala Airlines, with the new owners converting it to a low-cost carrier. In January 2011, facing bankruptcy, Mandala Airlines filed for protection from its creditors, and ceased operations. In May 2011, Singapore based Tiger Airways Holdings made an offer to purchase Mandala, but the transaction did not close until September 2011. The airline did not return to service until April 2012, renamed Tigerair Mandala, following an injection of fresh capital by Indonesian conglomerate Saratoga Investment Corp.

Batik Air Flight 7703 was a scheduled domestic flight operated by Lion Air's subsidiary Batik Air from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Makassar. On 4 April 2016, while taking off from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, the Boeing 737-800 operating the flight collided with a TransNusa Air Services ATR 42-600, which was being towed across the runway.
Soekarno–Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 is an international terminal of Soekarno–Hatta International Airport serving Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located on northeast side of the airport. Terminal 3 has a different style than other terminals of the airport. Terminal 1 and 2 were built with incorporation of the local architecture into the design, but Terminal 3 is built in contemporary modern design with environmental friendly and traditional sense. The terminal was first named as Terminal 3 Ultimate but later it was decided to integrate with the old Terminal 3.
