NAM Air is an Indonesian regional airline based at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. [3] The airline was founded on 26 September 2013, and operates as regional feeder subsidiary for Sriwijaya Air. [4] The airline serves smaller markets not targeted by its parent company. [5]
The creation of NAM Air was announced on 26 September 2013, originally envisioned as a full-service subsidiary for the Sriwijaya Air Group that was to compete with the Indonesian state-owned flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air Group's Batik Air. [6] The airline's inception was announced by Sriwijaya Air President, Chandra Lie, who dedicated the airline in the name of his father, Lo Kui Nam. [7]
The airline's full service intentions was later scrapped in favour of being a feeder carrier to Sriwijaya Air, akin to the relationship between Wings Air and Lion Air; under this arrangement, Sriwijaya Air would serve mainline routes, whereas NAM Air would operate secondary routes not targeted by its parent. [8]
Following the announcement, the airline planned on launching its maiden flight in October 2013. [9] The launch was later postponed due to the pending issuance of the carrier's Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation. NAM Air acquired its AOC on 29 November 2013 and flew its first testing flight from Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang on 11 December 2013. [10] [11] On 19 December 2013, the airline operated its maiden commercial flight from Jakarta to Pontianak to Yogyakarta with a Boeing 737-500 aircraft equipped with 120 seats in two classes. [12] [13] Upon its launch, NAM Air became the first airline to allow its female flight attendants to use a hijab as part of their uniform on any given flight. [14]
NAM Air was included in the EU airline blacklist of carriers that did not meet necessary safety standards to fly to airports in the European Union, and was thus banned from operating in European airspace. [15] [16] It was removed from the blacklist, along with every other Indonesian airline in June 2018. [17]
On 8 November 2018, NAM Air and its parent, Sriwijaya Air, entered a cooperation agreement with Garuda Indonesia, effectively taking over the operations and financial management of both airlines through its subsidiary, Citilink Indonesia. The agreement was made in order to facilitate the financial recovery of the struggling Sriwijaya Air Group through the improvement of operations and financial performance with help of the Garuda Indonesia Group. [18] [19] The agreement was terminated on 15 November 2019 after disputes between the two parties. [20]

Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, abbreviated SHIA or Soetta, formerly legally called Jakarta Cengkareng Airport, is the primary airport serving the Jakarta metropolitan area on the island of Java in Indonesia. Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, formerly named as Sepinggan Airport, is an international airport serving the city of Balikpapan and adjacent areas of East Kalimantan, located in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The airport began its new operational phase on 6 August 1997, with a new building and runway structure, replacing the old structure on the same site. The airport is operated by PT. Angkasa Pura I, which has an area of 300 hectares.

Domine Eduard Osok Airport, located in Sorong, Southwest Papua, Indonesia, is one of the largest and busiest airports on the Bird's Head Peninsula. It replaced a smaller, former World War II airfield, Jefman Airport on the island of Jefman. The airport is named after Domine Eduard Osok, a pastor originating from Sorong and known for doing missionary work and spreading Christianity in Sorong and the surrounding parts.

Yogyakarta International Airport is an international airport located at Temon district of Kulon Progo Regency, in Java, Indonesia. The airport is situated around 45 km (28 mi) from the city of Yogyakarta, which serves the Yogyakarta Special Region, as well as nearby Central Javan cities such as Purworejo, Kebumen, Cilacap and Magelang. TransNusa is an airline headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was launched in August 2005, serving various destinations from Kupang, Timor, using aircraft chartered from Pelita Air and Trigana Air Service. In August 2011, TransNusa received its own air operator's certificate (AOC) and scheduled commercial airline permit, operating as a regional carrier. The airline relaunched in 2022 after briefly ceasing operations in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Due to a change in strategy, the airline has since been aligning itself closer a full-service carrier.
Pacific Royale Airways was an Indonesian commercial airline which received its government flight license in November 2011. It received a formal Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) in May 2012, and made its first flight on June 11, 2012. On 6 September 2012, the airline ceased operations on a temporary basis, before having its license revoked on 19 November 2012.

Soekarno–Hatta International Airport Terminal 3 is an international terminal of Soekarno–Hatta International Airport serving Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located on northeast side of the airport. Terminal 3 has a different style than other terminals of the airport. Terminal 1 and 2 were built with incorporation of the local Javanese architecture into the design, but Terminal 3 is built in contemporary modern design with environmental friendly and traditional sense. The terminal was first named as Terminal 3 Ultimate but later it was decided to integrate with the old Terminal 3.
Super Air Jet is an Indonesian ultra low-cost airline based in Soekarno–Hatta International Airport. The airline was founded in March 2021 and commenced operations on 6 August 2021.
