The legislative district of Muntinlupa is the representation of the highly urbanized city of Muntinlupa in the Congress of the Philippines. The city is currently represented in the lower house of the Congress through its lone congressional district.
From 1907 up to 1972, it was represented as part of the first district of Rizal and of Region IV from 1978 to 1984. From 1984 to 1986, Muntinlupa was grouped with Pateros and Taguig (as the Legislative district of Taguig–Pateros–Muntinlupa) for representation in the Regular Batasang Pambansa. In 1987 it was grouped with Las Piñas to form the Legislative district of Las Piñas–Muntinlupa. Muntinlupa first elected its own representative in 1998, after its city charter (Republic Act No. 7926) was approved on March 1, 1995 and ratified on May 8, 1995.

Metropolitan Manila, officially the National Capital Region (NCR), is the seat of government and one of three defined metropolitan areas in the Philippines. It is composed of 16 cities: the city of Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela, as well as the municipality of Pateros. The region encompasses an area of 619.57 square kilometers (239.22 sq mi) and a population of 12,877,253 as of 2015. It is the second most populous and the most densely populated region of the Philippines. It is also the 9th most populous metropolitan area in Asia and the 5th most populous urban area in the world.
Muntinlupa, officially the City of Muntinlupa, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in Metropolitan Manila, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 504,509 people.
Rizal, officially the Province of Rizal, is a province in the Philippines located in the Calabarzon region in Luzon. Its capital is the city of Antipolo. It is about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) east of Manila. The province is named after José Rizal, one of the main national heroes of the Philippines. Rizal is bordered by Metro Manila to the west, Bulacan to the north, Quezon to the east, and Laguna to the southeast. The province also lies on the northern shores of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the country. Rizal is a mountainous province perched on the western slopes of the southern portion of the Sierra Madre mountain range.

The Battle of Pateros refers to a series of skirmishes between Spanish troops and revolutionary forces in the towns of Las Piñas, Taguig and Pateros in Manila. These skirmishes occurred shortly after the execution of José Rizal and are considered the renewal of hostilities in Luzon after a period of ceasefire from the Battle of Binakayan to the Rizal execution.
Metro Manila, the capital region of the Philippines, is a large metropolitan area that has several levels of subdivisions.
