Sucre is the de jure capital city of Bolivia, the capital of the Chuquisaca Department and the sixth most populous city in Bolivia. Located in the south-central part of the country, Sucre lies at an elevation of 2,790 m (9,150 ft). This relatively high altitude gives the city a subtropical highland climate with cool temperatures year-round.

Asunción is the capital and the largest city of Paraguay. The city stands on the eastern bank of the Paraguay River, almost at the confluence of this river with the Pilcomayo River. The Paraguay River and the Bay of Asunción in the northwest separate the city from the Occidental Region of Paraguay and from Argentina in the south part of the city. The rest of the city is surrounded by the Central Department.

<i>Nothoscordum</i> Genus of flowering plants

Nothoscordum is a genus of New World plants in the onion tribe within the Amaryllis family. It is probably paraphyletic. The genus is native to North, Central and South America, though a few species have become naturalized in various parts of the Old World.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Argentine War of Independence</span> Conflict for Argentine independence from the Spanish Empire (1810-1818)

The Argentine War of Independence was a secessionist civil war fought from 1810 to 1818 by Argentine patriotic forces under Manuel Belgrano, Juan José Castelli, and José de San Martín against royalist forces loyal to the Spanish crown. On 9 July 1816, an assembly met in San Miguel de Tucumán, declaring independence with provisions for a national constitution.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tarija</span> City & Municipality in Bolivia

Tarija or San Bernardo de la Frontera de Tarixa is a city in southern Bolivia. Founded in 1574, Tarija is the largest city and capital and municipality within the Tarija Department, with an airport offering regular service to primary Bolivian cities, as well as a regional bus terminal with domestic and international connections. Its climate is semi-arid (BSh) with generally mild temperatures in contrast to the harsh cold of the Altiplano and the year-round humid heat of the Amazon Basin. Tarija has a population of 234,442.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Villa Carlos Paz</span> City in Córdoba, Argentina

Villa Carlos Paz is a city in the center-north of the province of Córdoba, Argentina, in the south of the Punilla Valley, lying on the western slope of the Sierras Chicas. It has a population of about 56,000 as per the 2001 census [INDEC]. The area of Punilla is a major tourist destination on the national level, and Villa Carlos Paz is in turn the most important city of Punilla, favoured by its closeness to the populous Córdoba City, the capital of the province. Popular tourist activities include bathing in one of the many rivers, fishing, evening shows, kite surfing, windsurfing, hiking and mountain biking.

Argentina has a racially and ethnically diverse population. The territory of what today is Argentina was first inhabited by numerous indigenous peoples. The first white settlers came during the period of Spanish colonization, beginning in the 16th century. The Spaniards imported African slaves, who would go on to become the first Afro-Argentines. Following independence from Spain in the 19th century and well into the 20th century, numerous migration waves took place, with Argentina being the second most popular destination for migrants in the early 20th century, after the United States. Most of these migrants came from Europe.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Xavier Moyano</span> Musical artist

Xavier Moyano is an Argentine musician; producer, performer, composer, and educator. He began his career as a session guitarist in Tucuman in 1999. By 2003 was the guitarist for rock/pop band "AVe Cesar" until 2008, after that he became a solo rock instrumentalist. Between 2009 and 2011 he was guitarist and composer of metal band "Seliger" (Argentina/Brasil), between 2014 and 2019 he was guitarist and producer of "Cossas Novas", since 2018 he is guitarist and co-producer of "Rock Bro's" (ClassicRock). He is currently a solo guitarist, session musician and producer.

The Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities, UCCI, is an international, non-governmental organization of several major Ibero-American cities that fosters ties and friendly relations between its members. The organization was founded in Madrid on 12 October 1982. The organisation's headquarters are in Madrid.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Argentine cheese</span> Overview of Argentine cheeses

Argentine cheese is by far the most produced dairy product in the country, making Argentina the second largest cheese producer in Latin America and among the top 10 cheese-producing countries in the world. In addition, Argentina is the Latin American country that consumes the most cheese, with 12 kilos per capita per year. Production is mainly centered in the provinces of Córdoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires, in the Pampas region of the central and east-central parts of the country.
