Provinces of the Philippines administrative division of the Philippines

The provinces of the Philippines are the primary political and administrative divisions of the Philippines. There are 81 provinces at present, further subdivided into component cities and municipalities. The National Capital Region, as well as independent cities, are independent of any provincial government. Each province is governed by an elected legislature called the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and by an elected governor.

Acronyms and Portmanteau are popular in the Philippines. They are widely used in different sectors of Philippine society. Often, due to long full names of the institutions in the Philippines, acronyms are then utilized to shorten the name of an institution or a company in the country, making it more convenient to the majority of the Philippine population, but sometimes causing ambiguity.

Philippine Rice Research Institute

Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is a government corporate entity attached to the Department of Agriculture created through Executive Order 1061 on 5 November 1985 to help develop high-yielding and cost-reducing technologies for farmers.

National Christian Life College

The National Christian Life College (NCLC), formerly the Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA), is a private, non-stock, non-sectarian Christian school, with its main campus in Marikina City, Philippines. It was established in February 1980 by Dr. Leticia S. Ferriol, who is the directress of the school. It is part of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ headed by Arsenio Ferriol.

The 2011 PFF National Men's Club Championship is the 1st season of a Filipino association football competition organized by the Philippine Football Federation and sponsored by mobile phone and Internet service provider Smart Communications. It revives a national tournament discontinued since 2006. The last nationwide competition was a National Men’s Open Tournament held in Bacolod under the presidency of Juan Miguel Romualdez. Plans were conceived for a similar national competition under Romualdez's successor Jose Mari Martinez but did not push through for a variety of reasons.

Lingayen–Lucena corridor

The Lingayen–Lucena corridor is the part of Luzon in the Philippines, between Lingayen to Lucena, comprising the province of Pangasinan, and the regions of Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and Calabarzon, where national elections are claimed to be won. The corridor comprises about 40% of the vote.
