Founded in 1909, Montebello High School is a public high school which is part of the Montebello Unified School District, and has an enrollment of approximately 2,600 [4] students in grades 9-12. Its campus is located in Montebello, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. It is named for the city of Montebello.
The Montebello High School mascot is known as Ollie the Oiler, and the school's students and alumni are referred to as Oilers, (a reference to when Montebello was an oil-drilling town during the 1920s and 1930s).

The school currently offers 2 Pathways. The first of the two is the CATS Pathway, which teaches students how to be creative media artists and animators. The second of the two is the DRIVEN Pathway, which focuses on students learning about ergo alternative fuels and the automotive industry for future green jobs. For the other stuff, there is also AVID. AVID, which focuses to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.
The varsity sports teams are referred to as the "Montebello Oilers." The school colors are blue and gold. The school has an athletic rivalry with nearby Schurr High School.

Montebello is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, located just east of East Los Angeles and southwest of San Gabriel Valley. It is an independent city 8 mi (13 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. It is considered part of the Gateway Cities and San Gabriel Valley Cities, and is a member of the Gateway Cities Council of Governments and the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments.
Edward James Olmos is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as Lieutenant Martin "Marty" Castillo in Miami Vice (1984–1989), American Me (1992), William Adama in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009), Detective Gaff in Blade Runner (1982) and its sequel Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and the voice of Mito in the 2005 English dub of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. For his performance as high school math teacher Jaime Escalante in Stand and Deliver (1988), he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Schurr was established as a high school in 1971, with the campus having previously been the site of a junior high school.

John Edward Barrett, is a former tennis player, television commentator and author. He was born in Mill Hill, North West London, the son of Alfred Edward Barrett, a leaf tobacco merchant, and Margaret Helen Barrett. He had one sister, Irene Margaret Leppington (1925–2009), a research chemist. His father had the rare distinction of having played both for Leicester Tigers RFC as a wing three-quarter and for Leicester Fosse FC as a wing half.
