Otrus, or Otrous, was a town of ancient Phrygia located in the Phrygian Pentapolis, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times. [1]
It was the seat of a bishop, a notable bishop was Zoticus of Otrous. No longer a residential bishopric, it remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. [2]
Its site is located near Yanık Ören in Asiatic Turkey. [1] [3]
Ipsus or Ipsos or Ipsous (Ἴψους), was a town of ancient Phrygia a few miles below Synnada. The place itself never was of any particular note, but it is celebrated in history for the great battle fought in its plains, in 301 BCE, by the aged Antigonus and his son Demetrius against the combined forces of Cassander, Lysimachus, and Seleucus, in which Antigonus lost his conquests and his life. From Hierocles and the Acts of Councils, we learn that in the seventh and eighth centuries it was the see of a Christian bishop. No longer the seat of a residential bishop, Ipsus remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
Nazianzus or Nazianzos, also known as Nandianulus, was a small town of ancient Cappadocia, and in the late Roman province of Cappadocia Tertia, located 24 Roman miles to the southeast of Archelais. In the Jerusalem Itinerary it is miswritten as Nathiangus.
Motella, Metello(u)polis, or Pulcherianopolis was a city in the Roman province of Phrygia Pacatiana, in Asia Minor, probably on the site of the modern Yeşiloba (Medele).
Eumeneia or Eumenia was a town of ancient Phrygia, situated on the river Glaucus, on the road from Dorylaeum to Apameia. It is said to have received its name from Attalus II, who named the town after his brother and predecessor, Eumenes II. As of the 19th century, ruins and curious sculptures still marked the place as the site of an ancient town. On some coins found there we read Εὐμενέων Ἀχαίων, which seems to allude to the destruction of Corinth, at which troops of Attalus were present. The district of the town bore the name Eumenetica Regio, mentioned by Pliny the Elder. It was inhabited during Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine times; for a time it also bore the name Fulvia.
Carcathiocerta was a city in Armenian Sophene near the Tigris, identified with the modern town of Eğil. It was the first capital of Sophene until Arsames I founded the new capital Arshamshat around 230 BCE. The Seleucid king Antiochus IV Epiphanes renamed the city into Epiphania. Strabo in his Geography, calls it "The royal city of Sophene". It was assigned to the late Roman province of Mesopotamia. It also bore the names Artagigarta, Baras, Basileon Phrourion, and Ingila. Under the name Ingila, it became a bishopric; no longer the seat of a residential bishop, it remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
Doara was a town of ancient Cappadocia, inhabited in Byzantine times. It was in the Chamanene prefecture created by Archelaus of Cappadocia during Hellenistic times. The town appears on the Peutinger Table between Caesarea and Tavium. It was also mentioned by Hierocles as Rhegedoara (Ῥεγεδοάρα), and the Notitiae Episcopatuum.
Dionysiopolis or Dionysopolis, was a city of Phrygia in Asia Minor. The demonym Dionysopolitae (Διονυσοπολίτης) occurs on coins, and in a letter of M. Cicero to his brother Quintus, in which he speaks of the people of Dionysopolis being very hostile to Quintus, which must have been for something that Quintus did during his praetorship of Asia. Pliny places the Dionysopolitae in the conventus of Apamea, which is all the ancient writers note of their position. We may infer from the coin that the place was on the Maeander, or near it. Stephanus of Byzantium says that it was founded by Attalus and Eumenes. Stephanus mentions another Dionysopolis in Pontus, originally called Cruni, and he quotes two verses of Scymnus about it; however, the town of Dionysupolis in Thrace but on the Pontus, rather than in Pontus could be meant.
Satala or Satala in Lydia was a Roman era city and Bishopric in ancient Lydia.
Maionia or Maeonia, was a city of the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine era located near the Hermos River, in ancient Lydia. Both Ramsay and Talbert tentatively identified the ancient polis with the modern village of Koula a village known for its carpet manufacture.

Ceretapa or Keretapa, also called Diocaesarea or Diocaesareia or Diokaisareia (Διοκαισάρεια), was a Graeco-Roman town of Phrygia Pacatiana. It minted coins bearing the demonym Κερεταπεύς. The coins also show that there was near it a river or fountain Aulindenus. It was a bishopric with Silvanus representing the city at the Council of Ephesus, 431. No longer the seat a residential bishop, it remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
Bruzus or Brouzos was a town of ancient Phrygia, in the Phrygian Pentapolis, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times. Druzon, which Ptolemy places among the cities of Phrygia Magna, should be Bruzon.
Stectorium or Stektorion was a town of ancient Phrygia, in the Phrygian Pentapolis between Peltae and Synnada, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times. Pausanias believed that Mygdon's tomb was located here.
Temenothyra, or Temenothyrae or Temenothyrai, was a town of ancient Lydia, or of Phrygia, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times. It became a bishopric; no longer the seat of a residential bishop, under the name Temenothyrae it remains a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
Ciscissus or Kiskisos was a town and bishopric of ancient Cappadocia. In Roman and Byzantine times the town's name was sometimes shortened to Cissus and belonged to the Roman province of Cappadocia Prima. It became a Christian bishopric, a suffragan of the metropolitan see of Caesarea in Cappadocia, the capital of the province. The names of two of its bishops are known from extant contemporary documents: Plato was at the Trullan Council of 692, and Soterichus at the Second Council of Nicaea in 787. No longer a residential bishopric, Ciscissus is today listed by the Catholic Church as a titular see.

Sebaste was a town of Phrygia Pacatiana in ancient Phrygia, inhabited in Roman and Byzantine times. It was located between Alydda and Eumenia. It became the seat of a Christian bishop, mentioned by Hierocles, and in the Acts of the Council of Constantinople, which its bishop attended. No longer a residential bishopric, it remains, under the name Sebaste in Phrygia, a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church.
