The Puerto Rico national under-17 football team represents Puerto Rico in tournaments at the under-17 level. It is controlled by the Puerto Rican Football Federation.
Puerto Rico made its debut at the 1983 CONCACAF Championship were they faced Honduras and México. Subsequently, they played in the FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifiers in 1991, 2000 and 2002. It wasn't until 2006 where they got their first two victories against Anguilla and Saint Lucia. [1]
Since 2012 they have participated in every World Cup qualification. In 2012 the team was managed by Jeaustin Campos where they played in Cuba the first round of the qualification where they faced the hosts, Aruba and Bahamas but failing to advance to the next round. [2]
In 2014 they went to Bahamas this time managed by Vítor Hugo Barros where they earned a win against Bahamas but failed to advance after losing 2–0 against Martinique and drawing scoreless to Bermudas. [3]
Steven Estrada managed the team in 2016 with a very limited time to prepare. They lost all the matches against Haiti, Cayman Islands and Aruba, scoring only one goal. [4]
Marco Vélez took charge of the U-17 in 2019. [5] After a successful first round, the team reached the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Championship where they lost 2–1 against Mexico.
The team returned in 2022 with Pablo Almagro a head coach. Puerto Rico advanced as group leaders through the qualifying round with 25 goals scored and none conceded. [6] They managed to get a historic result defeating Costa Rica in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Concacaf U-17 Championship. [7]

The Puerto Rico national football team represents Puerto Rico in men's international football, and are governed by the Federación Puertorriqueña de Fútbol (FPF). The team's nickname is El Huracán Azul meaning The Blue Hurricane. They are members of the Caribbean Football Union, and part of CONCACAF. The team has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup or the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The Puerto Rico national under-20 football team represents Puerto Rico in tournaments at the under-20 level. The team is controlled by the Puerto Rican Football Federation.
The 2010 Caribbean Cup was the 2010 edition of the Caribbean Championship, an international football championship for national teams affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) of the CONCACAF region. The final stage was hosted by Martinique. Martinique were selected as hosts over fellow bidders Guadeloupe and Barbados. The competition was originally scheduled to begin on 18 August with the final match taking place on 28 November. However, at the beginning of August 2010, the CFU released a different schedule that showed the competition being postponed until 2 October. Also, the Bahamas pulled out of the competition, leaving 23 teams. The groups were changed, allowing Cuba and Antigua and Barbuda to get a bye to the second qualifying round at the expense of Guyana and the Netherlands Antilles.
The 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship qualification tournaments took place in 2010 to qualify national teams for the 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
The 2011 Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics were held in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. The event served as classifiers for the 2011 World Championships in Athletics and took place from July 15–17, 2011. It was the fourth time Puerto Rico hosted the event; the first time in Ponce in 1975, and later in San Juan in 1989 and 1997.
The 2012 CFU Club Champions’ Cup was the 14th edition of the CFU Club Championship, the annual international club football competition in the Caribbean region, held amongst clubs whose football associations are affiliated with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU). The top three teams in the tournament qualified for the 2012–13 CONCACAF Champions League.
