The Salem Downtown Historic District is a national historic district located at Salem, Washington County, Indiana. The original plat of the town, founded in 1814, is within the district. It is bounded by Mulberry and Hackberry Street in the north, Hayes Street in the east, the CSX railroad tracks in the south, and Brock Creek to the west. It encompasses 253 contributing buildings, 3 contributing structures, and 5 contributing objects in the central business district of Salem. The district was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Its architectural styles are Italianate, Gothic Revival, Classical Revival, Late Victorian, Early Republic, and Late 19th/20th Century Revivals.

Old Salem Church and Cemetery is a historic Lutheran Church and adjacent cemetery located at Catonsville, Baltimore County, Maryland. The main part of the 1849 Gothic Revival church building is a three bay, irregular stone structure approximately 28 feet wide and 42 feet long. It features a gable roof, a short boxy steeple, an entrance porch at the front and an apse at the rear. The interior features a gallery and organ loft has the original tracker organ, which is still hand pumped by a wooden lever on the north side of the case. From early on, the ground to the south of the church was laid out as a cemetery. The church was founded by German Lutheran immigrants.

It is a Greek Revival style church building constructed 1854–1855. It was built as the Calvinistic Methodist Church by the Welsh settlers who migrated to this area from Herkimer and Oneida Counties in the 1840s and 1850s. Regular services ended before World War I and the property has been maintained since 1926 by the Salem Cemetery Society, Inc.

The complex includes the original church structure (1874) with attached wing (1895) and the later parish house and church school (1923).

Salem United Church of Christ, formerly known as Old Salem Reformed Church, is a historic Reformed church at 231 Chestnut Street in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The church was built in 1821–1822, and is a two-story brick building in a Classical style. It features a large square bell tower topped by a domed cupola. The tower is flanked by two, three-story towers with stepped gables. A two-story, Sunday school annex was built to the rear of the church in 1862.

Salem Union Church and Cemetery, also known as Salem Lutheran Church and Salem United Church of Christ, is a historic United Church of Christ church and cemetery located near Maiden, Lincoln County, North Carolina. The church was built in 1849 as a simple rectangular brick building, and enlarged and remodeled in the Late Gothic Revival style in 1914–1915. With the remodeling, a two-stage corner tower was added and the window and door openings converted to lancet-arch openings. A two-story Sunday School addition was built in 1936-1937 and in 1989 a Fellowship Hall was built to form an "H"-shaped church building. Also on the property is a contributing well shed and cemetery with burials dating to 1792.
The Salem Methodist Episcopal Church and associated Salem Walker Cemetery is a historic church and cemetery located at 7150 Angle Road, in Salem Township, Michigan with a postal designation of Northville, Michigan. The church and cemetery were added to the National Register in 1992 and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1991. The church is significant as one of the least-altered Greek Revival churches existing in the state of Michigan.
Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, also known as Old Salem Lutheran Church, is a historic Evangelical Lutheran church located in Lebanon, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. The property includes two contributing buildings: the 18th century Old Salem church and the 19th century Salem Memorial Chapel. The Old Salem church was built between 1796 and 1798, and is a two-story, rectangular limestone building. It was modified in 1848, to infill corners and add the second story. The Salem Memorial Chapel was built in 1898, and is a limestone and sandstone building in a Gothic style with Richardsonian Romanesque influences. It was renovated in 1928. A 10-foot tall obelisk is also erected on the property.
