The Sanmilita Gana Shakti (SGS) is a regional political party in Indian state of Assam. [1] It is a left-wing party, with its primary support base among the Mising people. [2]

History

In 2005, the "Sanmilita Gana Mancha" party was formed out of “Sanmilita Janagosthiya Samanyar akshay Samiti” political convention which was held in Gogamukh with the representatives from area covering Mising Autonomous Council. It was later renamed as “Sanmilita Gana-Shakti”. [3]

Party Leadership

Paramananda Chayengiya is the president and Sunil Kumar Pegu is the executive president. Hiranya Dutta, Raju Khanikar and Purushottam Doley are general secretarie. [4]

Electoral performance

In 2019 election, Sanmilita Gana Shakti won 29 of the 36 seats in the Mising Autonomous Council. [5]
