Teluk Intan is a town in Hilir Perak District, Perak, Malaysia. It is the district capital and largest town in Hilir Perak district and fourth largest town in the state of Perak with an estimated population of around 172,505, more than half of Hilir Perak district's total population (232,900).

The Machang River originated from Titiwangsa Range along the Perak – Kelantan border and Merah River from the upper stream of Bang Lang National Park, Thailand. The confluence of these rivers joined together and made up the headwater of Perak River. Some of the branches of the river are the Bidor River and the Kinta River. The Temenggor Dam has created a large man-made lake at Banding near Grik.

The Sultan Yusuf Bridge is the main bridge in Hilir Perak District, Perak, Malaysia. It is located on West Coast Expressway and Federal Route 5 crossing Perak River between Batak Rabit and Kota Setia. It is the third longest river bridge in Malaysia and was named after the 32nd Sultan of Perak, Almarhum Sultan Yusuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarulahu-Lah.

Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud is a Malaysian lawyer and politician. She is the former political secretary to Democratic Action Party (DAP) veteran leader and Member of Parliament Lim Kit Siang. Dyana is also a columnist for The Malay Mail Online and Sinar Harian, a national Malay-language daily. She has also written a book called Di Sini Bermula which contains her compilation of her articles written for The Malay Mail Online. He is a member of the Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (GERAKAN), a component party of presently the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and formerly BN coalition. He also served as the 5th President of GERAKAN from October 2013 to September 2018.

The district is bordered by Perak River which separates Manjung and Central Perak in the north, Bernam River which separates Sabak Bernam in the state of Selangor in the south, Muallim and Hilir Perak in the northeast. The capital of this district is Bagan Datuk town. Other localities that are situated in the district include Hutan Melintang, Rungkup and a planned township known as the “Bagan Datuk Water City (BDWC)”.
