A special election was held in the U.S. state of Delaware to elect a new member for District 5 in the Delaware Senate, representing part of northern New Castle County on February 15. The election filled a vacancy caused by the election of incumbent Democrat Kyle Evans Gay as Lieutenant Governor of Delaware. The election took place concurrently with a special election in Senate District 1. [1] Ray Seigfried was elected senator with 65.1 percent of the vote.
In 2022, Democrat Kyle Evans Gay was re-elected senator with 66.3 percent of the vote.
