All 41 seats of the Delaware House of Representatives, 11 seats (out of 21) of the Delaware Senate, as well as the offices of Governor of Delaware, Lieutenant Governor of Delaware, and the State Insurance commissioner, were up for election.

Bryan Jeffrey Schurgard Townsend is an American politician who represents District 11 in the Delaware Senate. Townsend was elected Senate Majority Leader in 2020. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2003.

Ruth Briggs King is an American politician. She is a former Republican member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing district 37. After losing a primary race in 2000, she was elected to replace Republican Joseph Booth, who had won a special election to a seat in the Delaware Senate, in 2009. She resigned from the House in November 2023.
John "Larry" Mitchell Jr. is an American politician. He was a Democratic member of the Delaware House of Representatives, representing District 13. He was elected in 2006 after the retirement of Democrat John F. Van Sant. In 2019, he was elected majority whip in the House. He lost in the 2022 Democratic primary by 24 votes to DeShanna Neal, who went on to win the seat.
Bethany A. Hall-Long is an American politician has served as the 26th lieutenant governor of Delaware since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Hall-Long previously served in the Delaware Senate from 2008 to 2016 and in the Delaware House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008.

The 2016 United States House of Representatives elections were held on November 8, 2016, to elect representatives for all 435 congressional districts across each of the 50 U.S. states to the 115th United States Congress. Non-voting members for the District of Columbia and territories of the United States were also elected. These elections coincided with the election of President Donald Trump, although his party lost seats in both chambers of Congress. The winners of this election served in the 115th Congress, with seats apportioned among the states based on the 2010 United States census. In October 2015, the House elected a new Speaker, Republican Paul Ryan, who was re-elected in the new term. Democrat Nancy Pelosi continued to lead her party as Minority Leader. Elections were also held on the same day for the U.S. Senate, many governors, and other state and local elections.
