Brechin City Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the town of Brechin in Angus. The club was founded in 1906 by players and officials of two local clubs, Brechin Harp and Brechin Hearts. The club currently competes in Scottish League Two as a member of the Scottish Professional Football League, after successive relegations from the Championship in 2018 and League One in 2019.
Brechin Castle is a castle in Brechin, Angus, Scotland. The castle was constructed in stone during the 13th century. Most of the current building dates to the early 18th century, when extensive reconstruction was carried out by architect Alexander Edward for James Maule, 4th Earl of Panmure, between approximately 1696 and 1709. The castle is a 37,748 square feet (3,506.9 m2) Category A listed building and the grounds are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland.

It stretches from Muchalls in the north east down to Dundee in the south, and across to Glencarse in the south west. The cathedral and administrative centre is St Paul’s Cathedral in Dundee. The diocese continues to be named after its medieval centre of Brechin.

Brechin Cathedral, Brechin is a parish church of the established (presbyterian) Church of Scotland. The diocese had a long-established Gaelic monastic community which survived into the 13th century. The clerical establishment may very well have traced their earlier origins from Abernethy. During the Scottish Reformation, the Presbyterian Church of Scotland gained control of the heritage and jurisdiction of the bishopric. However, the line of bishops has continued to this day, according to ancient models of consecration, in the Scottish Episcopal Church.

Brechin Victoria Junior Football Club are a Scottish Junior football club based in Brechin, Angus. Their home ground is Victoria Park. The club have recently celebrated their centenary year 1917–2017. They enjoy links with the community and Brechin Youth Clubs to promote and work on the player development and pathway from grass roots to first team level. Chairman Graeme Mcveigh has previously stated that 'we are by far the best team in Brechin'

Careston is a hamlet in Angus, Scotland that is in the parish of the same name, 5 miles west of Brechin. The parish and hamlet supposedly took their name from a stone laid in commemoration of a Danish chieftain, called Caraldston. It has a castle and church, although the local primary school closed in 2004.

The junction of the A92 at Salmond's Muir forms the main route to the villages of Panbride, East Haven, Balmirmer and Scryne.
The Brechin and Edzell District Railway was a local line in Scotland connecting Edzell, then a developing tourist centre, to the nearby main population centre of Brechin, where there was a branch of the Caledonian Railway. The short line opened in 1896, and it was worked by the Caledonian Railway.
The Forfar and Brechin Railway was promoted as a possible alternative main line to part of the Caledonian Railway route between Perth and Aberdeen. It was opened in 1895, having been sold while incomplete to the Caledonian Railway.

She is the Scottish National Party (SNP) Member of Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the constituency of Angus North and Mearns in the 2016 Scottish Parliament election. She was a councillor for the Brechin and Edzell ward, 2007–17, and was Angus Council's spokesperson on economic development.
The Angus derby is a football rivalry that is based in Angus, Scotland. Matches are contested between any two SPFL clubs from Arbroath, Montrose, Forfar Athletic and Brechin City. All four sides regularly compete within the same leagues and therefore often face each other, and it is rare to find a season without a matchup between at least two of the Angus teams.
