Angus is one of the 32 local government council areas of Scotland, a registration county and a lieutenancy area. The council area borders Aberdeenshire, Dundee City and Perth and Kinross. Main industries include agriculture and fishing. Global pharmaceuticals company GSK has a significant presence in Montrose in the north of the county.
Forfar is the county town of Angus, Scotland and the administrative centre for Angus Council. It has a population of 14,048.
Tannadice Park, usually referred to as Tannadice, is a football stadium in Dundee, Scotland. It is the home ground of Dundee United F.C., who have played at Tannadice since the club was founded as Dundee Hibernian in 1909. The stadium has been all-seated since 1994 and has a capacity of 14,223. It is located only 200 yards from Dundee F.C.'s stadium, Dens Park; the two are the closest senior football grounds in the UK.

Paul Anthony Hegarty is a Scottish football player and manager. He was captain of Dundee United during their most successful era in the 1970s and 1980s, winning the Scottish league championship in 1983 and the Scottish League Cup twice. Hegarty won eight full international caps for Scotland. He has managed Forfar Athletic, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Livingston and Montrose.
David Bowman is a Scottish football coach and former player. In a 12-year career with Dundee United he played in the 1987 UEFA Cup Final and won the 1993–94 Scottish Cup. At United he was also a three time Scottish Cup runner up.
Euan McLean is a Scottish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He played for Sunderland, Dundee United, St Johnstone and Forfar Athletic and made two appearances for the Scotland under-21 team.
Frank Kopel was a Scottish footballer who played as a left back. Born in Falkirk, he had an 18-year professional football career, during which he played for Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Dundee United and Arbroath. He then went into coaching, becoming assistant manager at Arbroath and Forfar Athletic with a spell on the Dundee United coaching staff in between.
Marc Cocozza is a Scottish former footballer. After beginning his career as a youth player at Celtic, he briefly played for both Dundee United and Forfar Athletic.

Newtyle is a village in the west of Angus, Scotland. It lies 11 miles to the north of Dundee in the south west of Strathmore, between Hatton Hill and Newtyle in the Sidlaws. The village sits on gently sloping ground with a northwest aspect. The main communication link is the B954 road. The population is about 800 as of 2004.

The winner of the competition qualifies for the second qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. This year will be the first time since the 1998 Scottish Cup Final that the final will be played at Celtic Park.
Marc McCallum is a Scottish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Forfar Athletic. He has also previously played for Dundee United and Livingston, Plymouth Argyle, as well as an earlier stint at Forfar Athletic, Peterhead, Berwick Rangers, Arbroath and Livingston on loan. He has represented Scotland at under-17 and under-19 level.

The Forfar and Brechin Railway was promoted as a possible alternative main line to part of the Caledonian Railway route between Perth and Aberdeen. It was opened in 1895, having been sold while incomplete to the Caledonian Railway.
