Chanchalguda is a neighbourhood in Old City, Hyderabad. It is located near Saidabad and Dabirpura. The Chanchalguda Central Jail is located here.
Chanchalguda is connected by buses run by TSRTC. Buses that run are 98, connecting to Nampally, and 78, connecting to Charminar. But 78 number service has been discontinued. Uber service and autos are easily available.
The closest MMTS train stations are at Dabirpura and Malakpet.
The major festivals celebarated here are Eid ul fitr ,Eid ul Adha. Historic personalities of Chanchalguda include Subedar Ameer Ali Khan who helped hundreds of people secure pensions after Nizam Rule. His contributions were recognized and town of Ameerpet is named after him. In addition, there is Subedar Ameer Ali Khan Road named after him near Dabeerpura flyover. His son Chief Justice Sardar Ali Khan Barrister became High court judge of Andhra Pradesh and was minority chairperson with congress government for all India.
Other notable personalities with links to Chanchalguda was MIM founder Nawab Bahadur Yar Jung who was freedom fighter admired by Gandhi and Jinnah, an eloquent speaker. Other notable figures include Dr Bahadur world renowned surgeon whose name was announced in BBC Radio and Amanullah Khan former MLA and founder of MBT and poet Taleb Khudmiri, Professor Dr Sandozai, Osmania medical college instructor and renowned pathologist of Hyderabad. Other stellar personalities of Chanchalguda include Humanitarian Azhar Maqsusi who runs an NGO which says hunger has no religion (Hosted by Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachan on their shows) and renowned Gynecologist Dr Sultana Khan who was former head of Gynecology department of entire nation of Sultanate of Oman. In addition, the small town has one of the largest diasporas in Chicago land area.
Education was scarce in Muslim girls, Azeeza Khatoon founded Rahmathia Girls High School for girls with poor economic background with support from her father Subedar Ameer Ali Khan. This school provided opportunity to poor girls who had no chance towards education and uplifted lives of many poor individuals through education. Schools in the area include the popular Chanchalguda Government Junior College, Modern High School, Farah High School, Rehmatia High School, St. Lawrence High School, Caramel High School and Neo School Aizza. In addition, their Nawab Shah Alam college for higher education.

Nizam of Hyderabad was the title of the ruler of Hyderabad State. Nizam is a shortened form of Niẓām ul-Mulk, and was the title bestowed upon Asaf Jah I when he was appointed Viceroy of the Deccan by the Mughal Emperor Farrukhsiyar. In addition to being the Mughal Viceroy (Naib) of the Deccan, Asaf Jah I was also the premier courtier of the Mughal Empire until 1724, when he established an independent realm based in Hyderabad, but in practice, continued to recognise the nominal authority of emperor.
Ahmad Shah Bahadur, also known as Mirza Ahmad Shah or Mujahid-ud-Din Ahmad Shah Ghazi, was the fourteenth Mughal emperor, born to Emperor Muhammad Shah. He succeeded his father to the throne in 1748, at the age of 22. When Ahmed Shah Bahadur came to power, the Mughal Empire started to decline. Furthermore, his administrative weakness eventually led to the rise of the usurping Imad-ul-Mulk.
Asaf Jah VI, also known as Sir Mir Mahboob Ali Khan Siddiqi, was the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad. He ruled Hyderabad State, one of the princely states of India, between 1869 and 1911.

Lingampalli Bagh was given as a wedding present by the 5th Nizam, Nawab Afzal-ud-Dowla Bahadur when his daughter Shehzadi Haseen unnisa married Nawab Khursheed Jah Bahadur, H.E. Paigah Amir Nawab Sir Khursheed Jah Bahadur, the second greatest Paigah nobleman of Hyderabad Deccan. A little portion of the palace remains today...in what is Ambedkar College inside Lingampalli Bagh. The bagh was acquired by the Housing Board A.P., in the sixties. Furthermore, the palace had a tunnel leading to Golconda Fort. This was a property belonging to the Nizams and was given to Haseen Unnisa Begum, wife of Sir Khursheed Jah, by her father Nawab Afzal-ud-Dowla, Asaf Jah V, at the time of her wedding. She was also the sister of H.H Nawab Mahboob Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VI. This locality was also home to one of the Nobility of Hyderabad, Khan Bahadur Abdulkareem Lal Khan, Former Kotwal in the 7th Nizams Government. This area used to be full of fruit gardens belonging to them, from where the prefix ‘Bagh' is derived. The place had a small village called Lingampally which had a tank where queens would bathe. The locality has gained importance due to its proximity to RTC X Roads, Chikkadpally, Barkatpura, Himayathnagar, Nallakunta and Koti. This suburb is a mixture of the Old and New City cultures of Hyderabad. There is a vegetable market on Saturdays.

Nawab Abdul Ghani Saheb (1843–1897) was a notable figure in the western Indian city of Kolhapur, located in the Bombay Presidency. He is described as having been a very enterprising trader and businessman, investing his time and wealth in developmental activities. In addition to his entrepreneurial life, Sahab engaged in services for both his community and his home country. Nawab Saheb was also involved with the establishment of educational opportunities for his fellow citizens, and in the year 1290 Hijri, he established a "dini madrasa" that was subsequently named the Madrasa Nawabia Islamia.
