F1 2011 is a video game developed by Codemasters based on the 2011 Formula One season. The game was released in 2011 on Microsoft Windows, the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, with a 2012 release on the PlayStation Vita as a launch title for the system. [3] [4] [5] The game engine is based on EGO 2.0 engine.
All twelve teams and twenty-four drivers that started the 2011 season are featured in the game, though mid-season driver changes did not take place due to licensing restrictions. The entire calendar of nineteen circuits from the 2011 season is present, including the new Buddh International Circuit in India. [6] [7] Certain circuits also feature day-to-night transitions.
The focus of F1 2011 is to "Be the Driver, Live the Life, Go Compete" and that multiplayer aspects of the game are being emphasized as a part of this. Online multiplayer has a maximum of sixteen players in a race with the option to include an additional eight AI-controlled cars. Objectives are also included in multiplayer. A split-screen multiplayer mode is implemented, as is an online co-operative championship. The safety car was implemented in the game following its absence in F1 2010 , and is available in races that are 20% of real race distance or longer. [8] Red flags are also included for situations where the safety car cannot get around the track, but not for extreme weather conditions. [9] Rule changes for the 2011 season, including KERS, DRS and Pirelli tyres are also featured in the game.
Just like F1 2010, all the drivers are from the initial line-up from the 2011 season. Sub drivers (Bruno Senna, Karun Chandhok, Pedro de la Rosa and Daniel Ricciardo) are not included in the game.
Features of the game include a career mode in which the player makes a driver and simulates the driving experience. [10] Another mode is the Grand Prix in which one picks a professional driver and create a Formula 1 season. [11] There is also a "Proving Grounds" mode in which is a time trial to compete against other players around the world. [12] There is also a multiplayer option in which one can race with other players in a variety of gaming modes. [13]

The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions received "favorable" reviews, while the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions received "mixed or average reviews", according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. [14] [15] [17] [16] [18]
Early critical response was positive, with reviews praised improvements in handling and AI and the way new rule changes - in particular KERS and DRS - added an additional layer of strategy to the game. [21] IGN remarked that the differences in using these features helped separate qualifying and racing into two separate gameplay modes. [33] In Japan, where the game was ported for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, Famitsu gave the game a score of one nine, one eight, one seven and one eight for the first two console versions; [23] and one eight, two sevens and one six for the final two handheld versions. [22]
The Guardian gave the Xbox 360 version a score of four stars out of five and said it was "pretty much an essential purchase for any self-respecting petrol-head, and a lot more compelling and enticing than those who don't dream about lap times might imagine". [43] The Daily Telegraph similarly gave the same console version four stars out of five, saying that "Codemasters have made a plethora of improvements under the bonnet, polishing an engine that should prove a fantastic basis for the planned yearly iterations of their F1 franchise". [39] The Digital Fix gave the PlayStation 3 version a score of eight out of ten, calling it "a great racer but only a nearly-great game". [44]
Digital Spy gave said PlayStation 3 version a similar score of four stars out of five, saying that "it's not a wholesale reinvention, but rather a confident leap forward from a publisher in tune with its sport. The career mode lacks a bit of personality, but it's still a good frame for what is most important - the racing". [42] The website also gave the PlayStation Vita version three stars out of five and called it "a laudable attempt at scaling down a sophisticated simulation racer for a handheld platform, but it would have benefited from stronger AI and more challenge. In its defense, it caters well for newcomers due to its casual Challenges mode and forgiving level of difficulty, but still falls marginally short of expectations". [41] However, the same website also gave the Nintendo 3DS version two stars out of five and said that "Sumo Digital should be commended for its attempts to pack as much as humanely possible into a Nintendo 3DS game. Despite its wealth of options, game modes and extras, F1 2011 fails where it counts most, on the race track". [40]
F1 2011 has sold 3.5 million units worldwide.
Race Driver: Grid known outside of Europe as Grid is a 2008 racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, arcade, Java ME and OS X. It is the first game in the Grid series.
Colin McRae: Dirt known outside Europe as Dirt is a simcade racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It is the last of the series to be published before Colin McRae's death. It features new graphics, audio, physics engine, new vehicles and a new game engine called Neon which was co-developed between Codemasters and Sony Computer Entertainment. The game features a variety of off-road racing categories as well as World Rally Championship style events. The game was released for the PlayStation 3 in Europe on 14 September 2007, a day prior to Colin McRae's death. The sequel, Colin McRae: Dirt 2, was released in September 2009. A simplified version of the game was developed by Glu Mobile and released for Java ME devices in 2008.
Red Faction: Guerrilla is a third-person shooter video game developed by Volition and published by THQ. It was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in June 2009 and for Windows in September 2009. The game is the third installment in the Red Faction series. A remastered version titled Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered with improved graphics was released worldwide on July 3, 2018, for the PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One, and on July 2, 2019, for the Nintendo Switch.

F1 2009 is a video game based on the 2009 season of the Formula One motor racing series. It was released on the Wii and PlayStation Portable in November 2009 for North America, PAL region and the United Kingdom. The game was also released on iOS on 14 December. The PlayStation Portable version was also available as a download from the PlayStation Store from 16 November.

Fuel is an open world racing video game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Codemasters. The game was released in North America in June 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows. It is set in a post-apocalyptic United States after the Sun scorched the Earth, with a completely free-to-roam open world approximately 5,560 square miles (14,400 km2) in size, which is roughly the size of the U.S. state of Connecticut. In the free roaming mode, the game features the ability to drive anywhere in the game world without incurring loading times, but crashing a vehicle – or invoking the reset function to return to the road – does invoke a loading screen.
Colin McRae: Dirt 2 known outside Europe as Dirt 2 is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters in 2009, first for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii and Xbox 360, and then later for PC platforms. It is the sequel to Colin McRae: Dirt. Dirt 2 is the first game in the series since McRae's death in 2007 and the last to feature his name in the title. It is also the first and only game in the series to be available on a Nintendo home console and the last game in the series to be released on handhelds.

Virtua Tennis 4, known in Japan as Power Smash 4, is the third sequel to Sega's tennis game franchise, Virtua Tennis. It was released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Wii and PlayStation Vita. This is the first main series Virtua Tennis game to not have an arcade release before the console releases. An arcade version was also released, which is powered by the PC-based Sega RingEdge arcade system. There are two versions of the cabinet: an upright 4-player cabinet, and a deluxe 4-player cabinet.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is a video game which is the eleventh edition in the Pro Evolution Soccer series developed and published by Konami. Lionel Messi, who was the cover star for the series since PES 2009, was replaced by PES 2008 cover star Cristiano Ronaldo, while Borussia Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa replaces Messi as the cover star for the Japanese release. The US and Latin American cover features Santos player Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 is an association football video game, developed and published by Konami. The game was announced by Konami on April 18, 2012. For the first time of the series, all 20 teams from the Brazilian national league, Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, are included in the game series. The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League features in the game. PES 2013 was the last game in the series available on a Nintendo home console and was succeeded by Pro Evolution Soccer 2014.
F1 Race Stars is a video game developed by Codemasters, released in November 2012. It is a kart racing game loosely based on the 2012 Formula One season, with circuits redesigned to feature loops, jumps and short-cuts. It is a spin-off from the traditional Formula One video games, and is the first kart-racing game developed by Codemasters. The player is able to choose cartoonish versions of Formula One racing drivers, such as Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Räikkönen, Nico Rosberg, Mark Webber, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and Pedro de la Rosa. Codemasters have described the game as being designed to emphasise entertainment rather than simulation. A Wii U port under the title F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition was released in January 2014.

MotoGP 13 is a motorcycle racing game developed and published by Milestone and released in 2013. The game was announced by Milestone taking back production, after its departure on the franchise with MotoGP '08. Along with the racing game's inclusion on the PlayStation Vita handheld, Milestone announced that it would return support to the PC, as well as versions for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
F1 2014 is a racing video game based on the 2014 Formula One season developed and published by Codemasters. Despite releasing during the lifespan of eighth-generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the game was released on seventh-generation consoles PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 instead, in addition to a release on Microsoft Windows. F1 2014 is the last F1 game to be released in September/October, releasing during the latter month.
Toybox Turbos is a racing video game developed and published by Codemasters. It was released in November 2014.
F1 is a racing video game series by Codemasters under the EA Sports banner since 2021. The series holds the official license of the FIA Formula One World Championship, with the FIA Formula 2 Championship available since the 2019 game. A total of twenty-two games have been released to date, with the series' latest installment, F1 24, released in May 2024.
