The White–Haines Building, also known as C. O. Haines Optical Company Building, is a historic building located at 82 North High Street in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building is part of the High and Gay Streets Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Short North Historic District is a historic district in The Short North neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
The Krumm House is a historic building in the Brewery District neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982. The brick house was built c. 1885. The building was home to Alexander W. Krumm, the Columbus City Solicitor from 1878 to 1883. The property is also one of few remaining late 19th century houses on South High Street.
The Schlee-Kemmler Building is a historic building in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983. It was also included in the South High Commercial Historic District, added to those registers in 1983 and 1987, respectively.
The Ohio Moline Plow Building is a historic building in the Arena District in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The building was built in 1913 as an office, warehouse, and sales space for the Ohio Moline Plow Company, part of the Moline Plow Company based in Illinois. It is located in a former warehouse district, which once held numerous buildings of similar size, scale, and materials. In the late 20th century, most of the buildings were demolished. The building is also significant for its design integrity and materials, with original patterned brickwork and stone trim, and glass and wood office partitioning.
The South High Commercial Historic District is a historic district on High Street in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1987.
The North Market Historic District is a historic district in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983. The district consists of two-to-four-story warehouses, dating from 1880 to 1910.
Columbus Public Health is the health department of Columbus, Ohio. The department is accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board. The department dates to 1833, when the city's mayor appointed five citizens to help with its cholera outbreak. It became a permanent body to activate whenever health emergencies arose.
The Jefferson Avenue Historic District is a historic district in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983. The site includes approximately 12 buildings regarded for their history and architecture. It is one of few remaining residential neighborhoods downtown. It includes the Thurber House, formerly home to cartoonist and author James Thurber, and the headquarters building of the Columbus Landmarks Foundation. The boundaries of the district vary slightly between the two registers the district was entered in.
The Columbus Near East Side District is a historic district in the Near East Side of Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. A portion of the district, the Bryden Road District, was added to the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1990. An addition, the Columbus Near East Side Historic District-Parsons Avenue, was added to the register in 1983.
The Old Beechwold Historic District is a neighborhood and historic district in Clintonville, Columbus, Ohio. The site was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1985 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The district is significant for its architecture, landscape architecture, and community planning. The houses are of the early 20th century, using stone, brick, and stucco.
High Street is a major thoroughfare in Central Ohio, predominantly in Franklin County and Columbus. It stretches from the northern border of Columbus in Delaware County south to the southern boundary of Franklin County just past Columbus's municipal boundaries. The street is considered one of Columbus's two main roads, along with Broad Street.
The Felton School was a public school building in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, and a part of the Columbus Public School District. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1985.
The East North Broadway Historic District is a historic district in Clintonville, Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The linear district spans the east and north sides of East North Broadway, encompassing 117 primary and 86 secondary buildings, mostly garages and outbuildings. Most of the contributing structures are single-family houses, though there is an office building, school, and two churches. There is a diverse array of architecture styles represented, including Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, English Revival, Dutch Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, Romanesque Revival, Craftsman, Bungalow, and mid-century modern.
The Third Avenue and North High Historic District is a historic district in the Short North neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The site consists of 24 buildings, including six that are non-contributing. Most are commercial or multifamily residential brick buildings built between 1900 and 1920.
The North Columbus Commercial Historic District is a historic district in the Old North Columbus neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. The district is centered on High Street, one of the city's two main thoroughfares. The district has 25 buildings, all of which contribute to the district, and built from c. 1880 to 1960. Architectural styles range from Italianate to Tudor Revival and Neoclassical, with some Craftsman elements and one Modernist building.
The Schlee Brewery Historic District is a historic district in the Brewery District neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. At the time of nomination, the site consisted of six buildings, all of which are contributing. Most are two-to-three story commercial brick buildings built between the 1860s and 1890s.
The Near Northside Historic District is a historic district in Columbus, Ohio. The large district encompasses portions of the University District, Harrison West, and nearly all of Victorian Village.
The First Avenue School is a former public school building in the Harrison West neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983, and was listed as part of the Near Northside Historic District, on the National Register of Historic Places, in 1980. The building is one of the oldest in the neighborhood, built in 1874. It is also one of the oldest remaining school buildings in Columbus, built at the same time as the Second Avenue School and Stewart Alternative Elementary, also still extant. In 1984, Wood Development remodeled the building into the First Avenue Office Center at a cost of $1.2 million.
