Humad (or Humbad) is the name of an ancient Jain community originally from Gujarat and Rajasthan, India. Their traditional center is Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, Dungarpur and Sagwada region, often called Vagad (or Raidesh), in Rajasthan. [1]

Rajasthan State in northwestern India

Rajasthan is a state in northern India. It covers 342,239 square kilometres (132,139 sq mi) or 10.4 per cent of India's total geographical area. It is the largest Indian state by area and the seventh largest by population. It is on India's northwestern side, where it comprises most of the wide and inhospitable Thar Desert and shares a border with the Pakistani provinces of Punjab to the northwest and Sindh to the west, along the Sutlej-Indus River valley. It is bordered by five other Indian states: Punjab to the north; Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to the northeast; Madhya Pradesh to the southeast; and Gujarat to the southwest. Its geographical location is 23.3 to 30.12 North latitude and 69.30 to 78.17 East longitude, with the Tropic of Cancer passing through its southernmost tip.

Rajput Social community of South Asia

Rajput is a large multi-component cluster of castes, kin bodies, and local groups, sharing social status and ideology of genealogical descent originating from the Indian subcontinent. The term Rajput covers various patrilineal clans historically associated with warriorhood: several clans claim Rajput status, although not all claims are universally accepted. According to modern scholars, almost all Rajputs clans originated from peasant or pastoral communities.

The Jains in India are the last direct representatives of the ancient Shramana tradition. People who practice Jainism, an ancient religion of the Indian subcontinent, are collectively referred to as Jains.

Ghoomar

Ghoomar or ghumar is a traditional folk dance of Rajasthan. It was the Bhil tribe who performed it to worship Goddess Sarasvati which was later embraced by other Rajasthani communities. The dance is chiefly performed by veiled women who wear flowing dresses called ghaghara. The dance typically involves performers pirouetting while moving in and out of a wide circle. The word ghoomna describes the twirling movement of the dancers and is the basis of the word ghoomar.

Gurjar or Gujjar is an ethnic nomadic, agricultural and pastoral community, spread mainly in India, Pakistan, Kashmir and Afghanistan, divided internally into various clan groups. Although traditionally they have been involved in agriculture, pastoral and nomadic activities Gujjars are a large heterogeneous group that is internally differentiated in terms of religion, occupation, and socio-economic status. The historical role of Gurjars has been quite diverse in society, at one end they have been founder of several kingdoms, dynasties, and at the other end, they are also nomads with no land of their own.

Rajasthani people or Rajasthanis are an Indian ethnic group native to Rajasthan, a state in Northern India. Their language, Rajasthani, is a part of the western group of Indo-Aryan languages.

The Sindh-Sipahi are a converted Muslim community found in the province of Sindh in Pakistan and state of Rajasthan in India.

The Silawat are a Muslim community found in the province of Sindh in Pakistan, and the state of Rajasthan in India. They are also known as Sangtarash and Gazdar, especially in Sindh.

The Sorgar are a Manihar Muslim community found in the state of Rajasthan in India. Many members of Sorgar community have migrated to Pakistan after independence have settled in Karachi, Sindh.

The Pathans of Rajasthan are a Pathan/Pashtun community found in the state of Rajasthan in India.

Pinjara

The Pinjara are a community found in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Rajasthan in India. The terms Pinjara, Mansoori, and Dhunia are used interchangebly in some regions of India whereas in other regions they are separate communities. They are also known as Mansoori, especially in Gujarat, where the name Pinjara is no longer used. The Pinjara is the traditional cotton carder of Central India, just like the are the traditional cotton carders of North India.This community came from Persia and Afghanistan for business purpose of cotton farming and industries.

The Nagori is a Muslim community found in the state of Rajasthan in India.

Chhipa

The Chhipa are a community or clan of people with ancestral roots tracing back to India. They are found in the state of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh of India. Chhipa are also found in Pakistan.

The Deshwali, or sometimes pronounced Deswali, are a Jat communityfound in the state of Rajasthan in India. A small number of Deshwali are found in the city of Hyderabad, Jharkhand.

The Ghanchi (Ghaanchi) are a Muslim community found in the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan in India. A small number of Ghanchi are also found in the city of Karachi in Pakistan.

The Behlim are Muslim people mainly found in North India and Pakistan. They are a sub-caste of the Rajputs. The Behlims trace their origin back to the great saint

The Hiranbaz are a Muslim community found in the state of Rajasthan in India. They are also known as Mertia or Mertia Qasai.

The Chadwa are a Muslim community found in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat in India.
