Argentina competed at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the nation's fifth appearance out of eight editions of the Summer Olympic Games. Argentina sent its second national team, under the auspices of the Argentine Olympic Committee, 81 athletes that competed in 41 events in 12 sports. Argentina competed in equestrian, football, sailing, water polo, and wrestling for the first time. Argentina won 3 gold medals, its first Olympic championships in boxing and swimming. Roberto Alfredo Perfumo was an Argentine footballer and sports commentator. Nicknamed El Mariscal, Perfumo is considered one of the best Argentine defenders ever. At club level, Perfumo played for Racing, River Plate and Brazilian team Cruzeiro. With the national team, he played the 1966 and 1974 World Cups.

Football was one of the tournaments at the 1928 Summer Olympics. It was won by Uruguay against Argentina, and was the last Olympic football tournament before the inception of the FIFA World Cup, which was held for the first time in 1930.

Marcos Alejandro Riccardi is a field hockey midfielder from Argentina. He was a member of the national squad at the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup in Mönchengladbach where they finished 10th place overall. He was also a member of the Argentinian Olympic team that finished in 8th place at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

María "Maripi" de la Paz Hernández is a retired field hockey player from Argentina, who won the silver medal with the national women's hockey team at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and bronze medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She was also a member of the Argentinian squad that won the World Cup in 2002 and two Champions Trophy. María de la Paz has also two Pan American Games and the Pan American Cup in 2001. Her brother is current Argentina rugby star Juan Martín Hernández.

Pablo Ariel Tabachnik is an Argentinian table tennis player. He competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics with Oscar Gonzalez. He is a three-time Olympian.

Juan Diego Nelson was an Olympic Argentinian polo player during the first half of the 20th century. He is listed in the Argentinian polo team roster for the 1924 Summer Olympics which won the gold medal that year. In the 1936 Summer Olympics, although he was once again part of the team Nelson is not listed as a medallist; he was the 'non-playing captain' of the team. Nevertheless, it is sometimes implied that Nelson was the first Argentinian to have won two Olympic gold medals. In 2008, Javier Mascherano became the second Argentine to win two Olympic gold medals.

Gabriela Edith Sánchez Grossi is a retired Argentinian field hockey player. She was part of the Argentina national team that competed at the Summer Olympics in 1988 and 1996. Sánchez won gold medals at the 1987 and 1995 Pan American Games.

Juan Martín López is an Argentine field hockey player for Banco Provincia. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament. Juan Martín has won the bronze medal at the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup and three gold medals at the Pan American Games. The midfielder was also part of the Argentinian squad which won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He plays club hockey for Banco Provincia.

William Arjona is a Brazilian volleyball player, a member of Brazil men's national volleyball team and Brazilian club Sada Cruzeiro. He is a 2016 Olympic Champion. Arjona was called up for the adult national team for the first time in 2003, he played four years in Bolivar, where he conquered the national championship four times and was chosen as the best player in the country. He came back in Brazil in 2010 to play for Sada Cruzeiro, where he won the Superliga 2012 as the best setter in the competition. In 2013, he was called and took part in Brazil World League silver medal campaign and won the gold medal in the South American Championship. Arjona was named Best Setter in World Club Championship. William Arjona won the FIVB world league with Sada Cruzeiro three times in 2013, 2015 and 2016.

Martina Dominici is an Argentine artistic gymnast. As a junior, she was the first non-European and the first Argentinian gymnast to win the TopGym, a famous junior competition held in Belgium. A senior gymnast since 2018, she has represented Argentina at the 2018 and 2019 World Championships as well as the 2019 Pan American Games. She is currently suspended for 3 years after testing positive for a banned substance in the 2021 Pan American Gymnastics Championships

The Argentina national badminton team represents Argentina in international badminton team competitions and is administered by Argentine Badminton Federation. Argentina competed in the Sudirman Cup three times in 1995, 1997 and 1999.
