The Astronomical Observatory of Capodimonte is the Neapolitan department of Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, the most important Italian institution promoting, developing and conducting scientific research in the fields of astronomy, astrophysics, and space science.
Museo di Capodimonte is an art museum located in the Palace of Capodimonte, a grand Bourbon palazzo in Naples, Italy designed by Giovanni Antonio Medrano. The museum is the prime repository of Neapolitan painting and decorative art, with several important works from other Italian schools of painting, and some important ancient Roman sculptures. It is one of the largest museums in Italy. The museum was inaugurated in 1957.
Maria Amalia was Queen of Spain from 10 August 1759 until her death in 1760 as the wife of King Charles III. Previously, she had been Queen of Naples and Sicily since marrying Charles on 19 June 1738. She was born a princess of Poland and Saxony, daughter of King Augustus III of Poland and Princess Maria Josepha of Austria. Maria Amalia and Charles had thirteen children, of whom seven survived into adulthood. A popular consort, Maria Amalia oversaw the construction of the Caserta Palace outside Naples as well as various other projects, and she is known for her influence upon the affairs of state.

Capodimonte is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Viterbo in the Italian region Lazio, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northwest of Rome and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Viterbo. It is on the southwestern shore of Lake Bolsena. In contrast to the other communities on the lake, Capodimonte has a headland with a sheltered harbor.
San Carlo all'Arena is a district of Naples, the regional capital of Campania, located north-east of the historic centre of the city. This quarter (quartiere) is named after the Church of San Carlo all'Arena and it constitutes - together with district Stella - Naples' third municipality. The district is centered on the Bourbon Hospice for the Poor located in Piazza Carlo III, a square named after Charles III the first Bourbon king of Naples.
Capodimonte porcelain is porcelain created by the Capodimonte porcelain manufactory, which operated in Naples, Italy, between 1743 and 1759. Capodimonte is the most significant factory for early Italian porcelain, the Doccia porcelain of Florence being the other main Italian factory. Capodimonte is most famous for its moulded figurines.

The Royal Palace of Capodimonte is a large palazzo in Naples, Italy. It was formerly the summer residence and hunting lodge of the Bourbon kings of the Two Sicilies, one of the two royal palaces in Naples. Today, the main building holds the main Neapolitan museum for paintings, and much other post-ancient art, in the National Museum of Capodimonte. This has the best collection of paintings from the distinct tradition of Neapolitan art, and also many works from the Farnese Collection.

It was commissioned for Gioacchino Murat by Naples' interior minister Giuseppe Zurlo, using dimensions, price and subject specified by Hayez's patron and protector Leopoldo Cicognara, president of the Accademia di Venezia.
Sacrificial Scene is a grisaille tempera on canvas painting by Pontormo, produced around 1520 and now in the National Museum of Capodimonte in Naples. It was probably originally produced as part of the decoration of an interior in honour of Cosimo de' Medici.
Portrait of Maria Luisa of Parma is a portrait of Maria Luisa of Parma, wife of Charles IV of Spain, from 1799-1800. It was produced as a pendant painting to a portrait of her husband. Both works were long thought to be a copy after an autograph work by Francisco Goya, but they have now been definitively reattributed as autograph works by Goya himself, produced late in the 18th century. Goya was a court artist to the royal family, though most of his paintings of them are still in the Prado Museum. The two works were commissioned by the couple's daughter Maria Isabella of Spain. They were sent to Maria Isabella and they are both now in the National Museum of Capodimonte in Naples.
