One hundred and twenty-seven people, all male, were executed in the United States in 1924, sixty-nine by electrocution, fifty-six by hanging, one by firing squad, and one by gas chamber. [1]
The execution of Gee Jon this year marked the first time a gas chamber was used as a method of execution in the United States.
