Mothership is a compilation album [8] by English rock band Led Zeppelin, released by Atlantic Records and Rhino Entertainment on 12 November 2007 in the United Kingdom, and 13 November 2007 in the United States. It was released on the same day that Led Zeppelin's entire catalogue became available in digital stores, including the iTunes Store. [9] The cover was designed by artist Shepard Fairey.[ citation needed ]

Contents

The songs included were chosen by the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, and represent the band's eight studio albums. In addition to a two-disc set, the album is also available in both "deluxe" and "collector's" editions with a DVD featuring varied live content from the previously released Led Zeppelin DVD (2003). A 4-LP vinyl package was also released on 26 August 2008. [10] On 6 November 2015, the album was reissued using the audio from the band's 2014–15 remaster campaign. [11]

On 8 November 2007, a temporary XM Satellite Radio station, XM LED was made to promote the album.

Commercial performance

The album debuted at #4 in the UK Albums Chart, [12] with 58,000 units sold, and debuted at #1 on the Official New Zealand Albums Chart and stayed there for several weeks. [13] The album also debuted at #7 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling about 136,000 copies in its first week. The album has sold over 2.1 million copies in the U.S and over 4.5 million copies worldwide, leading to it being certified 2× Platinum by the RIAA. [14]

The two-CD edition shares most tracks with the original two-CD compilation Led Zeppelin Remasters , but with "When the Levee Breaks" and "Over the Hills and Far Away" instead of "Celebration Day" and "The Battle of Evermore." It also shares most tracks with The Best of Led Zeppelin (with "Ramble On", "Heartbreaker", "Over the Hills and Far Away", and "D'yer Mak'er" instead of "What Is and What Should Never Be", "The Battle of Evermore", and "Ten Years Gone").

The Best of Led Zeppelin is a two-volume best-of compilation album series by English rock group Led Zeppelin; containing selections from all of the band's studio albums it was released by Atlantic Records. Volume one, Early Days was released on November 22, 1999; volume two, Latter Days, was released on March 21, 2000. Early Days is composed of tracks from the period in the band's history dating 1968 to 1971 and doesn't use a traditional "greatest hits" format as Led Zeppelin largely avoided single releases. Latter Days covered 1973 to 1979. Early Days debuted at #71 on the Billboard's Pop Albums chart and Latter Days debuted at #81. Celebration Day is a concert film and live album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, recorded at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert on 10 December 2007, in The O2 Arena, London. The film was given a limited theatrical release starting on 17 October 2012, and was released on several home audio and video formats on 19 November 2012. The performance, the film, and album releases have been widely praised.

<i>Dutty Rock</i> 2002 studio album by Sean Paul

Dutty Rock is the second studio album by Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist Sean Paul. Released on 12 November 2002, it features four top 15 Billboard Hot 100 hits, "Gimme the Light", "Get Busy", "Like Glue" and "I'm Still in Love with You". It is also his first album to have a Parental Advisory sticker. The album debuted at number 26 on the US Billboard 200, selling 65,000 copies in its first week and went on to become an international phenomenon, eventually climbing the charts peaking at number 9 on the US Billboard 200, number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and topping the Canadian Albums Chart.
