Powellhurst-Gilbert is a neighborhood in the Southeast section of Portland, Oregon. It borders the neighborhoods of Montavilla, Hazelwood, and Mill Park on the north, Centennial on the east, Pleasant Valley on the east and south, and Lents and South Tabor on the west.
According to the Neighborhood Plan, [2] the neighborhood is named after two of its schools: Powellhurst (named in the 1920s after 1850s settler Jackson Powell) and Gilbert (named after William M. Gilbert, an Indiana emigrant who settled in the area c. 1890). Settlement of the community by farmers via the Donation Land Claim Act began in the middle of the 19th century. Rail service to Portland began in 1892, spurring residential development. The resulting suburb was gradually annexed by Portland beginning in the 1960s and completing in 1994.
The neighborhood includes the Jade District commercial and cultural center.
Powellhurst-Gilbert contains Portland's largest Asian population, making up 17.89% of the city's population. [3]

Chandler is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, and a suburb in the Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). It is bordered to the north and west by Tempe, to the north by Mesa, to the west by Phoenix, to the south by the Gila River Indian Community, and to the east by Gilbert. As of the 2020 census, the population of Chandler was 279,458, up from 236,123 at the 2010 census.
Bushwick is a neighborhood in the northern part of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Woodstock is a neighborhood located in inner southeast Portland, Oregon, United States.
South Portland is a long, narrow neighborhood just south of Downtown Portland, Oregon, hemmed in between the Willamette River and the West Hills. It stretches from I-405 and the Marquam Bridge on the north, to SW Canby St. and the Sellwood Bridge in the south. The Willamette forms the eastern boundary, and SW Barbur Blvd. most of the western boundary. In addition to Downtown to the north, other bordering neighborhoods are Southwest Hills, Homestead, Hillsdale, and South Burlingame to the west, and Hosford-Abernethy, Brooklyn, and Sellwood-Moreland across the river on the east.
Brentwood-Darlington is a neighborhood on the southern edge of Portland, Oregon, bordering SE 45th Avenue to the west, SE Duke Street to the north, and SE 82nd Avenue to the east. The county line separating Multnomah County from Clackamas County forms most of the neighborhood's southern boundary, though small portions of the neighborhood and the city extend into Clackamas County. Roughly, the southern boundary is SE Harney Drive on the eastern one-fourth, and SE Clatsop Street on the other three-quarters.
Sunnyside is a neighborhood in the south east section of Portland, between SE Stark Street and SE Hawthorne Blvd. and from SE 28th Ave. to SE 49th Ave.. The Sunnyside Neighborhood motto is "Proud Past, Bright Future". Sunnyside has a "strong sense of Portland individuality" with many locally owned coffee shops and businesses. Sunnyside is bordered by Laurelhurst to the north, Richmond to the south, Buckman to the west, and Mount Tabor to the east. Because of its Victorian architecture and bohemian culture, Hawthorne/Belmont is often compared to San Francisco's Haight Ashbury district. Sunnyside has been called Portland's "uncontested champion of eco-consciousness".
The Lents neighborhood in the Southeast section of Portland, Oregon is bordered by SE Powell Blvd. on the north, the Clackamas County line or City of Portland line on the south, SE 82nd Ave. to the west, and roughly SE 112th on the east. The NE corner overlaps with the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood. In addition to Powellhurst-Gilbert on the north and east, Lents also borders Foster-Powell, Mt. Scott-Arleta, and Brentwood-Darlington on the west and Pleasant Valley on the east.
Mill Park is a neighborhood in the outer Southeast section of Portland, Oregon, United States. It borders Hazelwood on the west, north and east, and Powellhurst-Gilbert on the south.
University Park is a neighborhood in the north section of Portland, Oregon on the east shore of the Willamette River. University Park is bounded by North Lombard Street and the Portsmouth neighborhood to the north, North Chautauqua Boulevard and the Arbor Lodge neighborhood to the east, The Willamette River and Mock's Bottom industrial area to the south, and the North Portland railroad cut with Cathedral Park and St. Johns neighborhoods to the west.
Glenfair is a small neighborhood spanning the Northeast and Southeast sections of Portland, Oregon, on the city's eastern border with Gresham. It is bordered by the Wilkes, Hazelwood, and Centennial neighborhoods in Portland, as well as the City of Gresham to the east. Its boundaries are NE Glisan Street, 148th Avenue, SE Stark, and 161st Street.

The Jade District is an Asian-dominated commercial area and cultural hub radiating outward from Southeast 82nd Avenue and Division Street, in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. It is roughly between Division Street and Powell Boulevard to the north and south, and between SE 75th Avenue and I-205 to the east and west. Part of the Montavilla, Powellhurst-Gilbert, and South Tabor neighborhoods, the district is one of the most diverse census tracts in the state of Oregon.
The Pink Feather Restaurant and Lounge, or simply the Pink Feather, was a restaurant and dive bar in Portland, Oregon's Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood, in the United States. The restaurant opened in 1957 and closed in October 2017. It was included in Willamette Week's 2016 list of the best bars in East Portland.
