Madison South is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Portland, Oregon. It is bordered by the Roseway, Sumner, Cully, Parkrose, Montavilla, and Rose City Park neighborhoods, and by the enclave city of Maywood Park. The neighborhood roughly conforms to the boundaries of Interstate 84 to the south, Interstate 205 to the east, NE Sandy Boulevard to the north, and NE 65th Avenue to the west.
Notable features of Madison South include Rocky Butte, an inactive volcanic cinder cone; the Grotto, a Catholic nature sanctuary; and the Alameda Ridge, a gravel bar left over from the Missoula Floods. Notable structures include McDaniel High School, Roseway Heights Middle School, the MAX Light Rail NE 82nd Ave Station, and the former international headquarters of Banfield Pet Hospitals.
Green Lake is a neighborhood in north central Seattle, Washington. Its centerpiece is the lake and park after which it is named.
The street layout of Seattle is based on a series of disjointed rectangular street grids. Most of Seattle and King County use a single street grid, oriented on true north. A second thoroughfare is Boylston Avenue E.; as an arterial, it parallels Interstate 5 for the four blocks between E. Newton Street to the south and E. Cully is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Portland, Oregon. The neighborhood, as well as NE Cully Blvd. that runs diagonally through it, is named after English stonemason Thomas Cully (1810–1891), an early settler. Cully borders Sunderland, Concordia, and Beaumont-Wilshire on the west, Portland International Airport on the north, Sumner on the east, and Rose City Park and Roseway on the south.
Northeast is a defined community in the U.S. city of Minneapolis that is composed of 13 smaller neighborhoods whose street addresses end in "NE". Unofficially it also includes the neighborhoods of the University community which have "NE" addresses, and the entirety of the Old Saint Anthony business district, which sits on the dividing line of "NE" and "SE" addresses.
