Union Chapel is a historic Methodist chapel located in Shelter Island Heights, Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1875 and is a wood-frame structure with wood-shingle sheathing. The chapel's main three-bay facade has a 2+12-story bell tower with a double-door center entrance at its base; a small porch shelters the entry. It is the most important extant structure associated with the Shelter Island Heights Grove and Camp Meeting Association, a Methodist camp established in 1872. [2]

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. [1]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Grecian Shelter</span> United States historic place

The Grecian Shelter, designated a Croquet Shelter on the original plans of Prospect Park, is also referred to as the Prospect Park Peristyle or Peristyle. The building, a peristyle with Corinthian columns, is situated near the southern edge of Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York. Constructed by McKim, Mead and White in 1905, this peristyle was built on the site of the 1860s-era Promenade Drive Shelter along the southwest shore of the Prospect Park Lake. The Prospect Park Peristyle is designed in the Renaissance architectural style. It consists of a raised platform located two steps above ground level; the platform is covered by a rectangular colonnade with 28 Corinthian marble columns, each with square piers. An entablature of terracotta runs atop the structure. The building was constructed as a temporary refuge from rain and sun.

It was built in 1890 and moved to its present site in 1924. It was originally located on the grounds of the Manhaset House Hotel. It is a modest, frame Gothic Revival style structure. It consists of a gabled nave; a prominent, square engaged tower; a distinct chancel with a lower gabled roof; and a rear entrance wing.

Union Meeting House, also known as the Millens Bay Union Church, is a historic church located at Millens Bay in the Town of Cape Vincent in Jefferson County, New York. It was built between 1869 and 1871 as a cooperative Episcopal and Methodist union church, as a mission of St. John's Episcopal Church in the village of Cape Vincent and of the Methodist-Episcopal Church in St. Lawrence. It is a one-story wood-frame structure, rectangular in plan, one bay wide and four bays long. It features a steeply pitched gable roof and steeple with a six sided spire. It can seat about 200 individuals. Interdemoninational services are held on Sunday mornings in July and August each summer.

The Pleasant Grove Camp Meeting Ground is a historic Methodist camp meeting national historic district located near Waxhaw, Union County, North Carolina. The district encompasses four contributing buildings and one contributing site. The main building is the arbor that dates to 1830. It is an 80 feet long by 60 feet wide open sided frame structure with a gable roof surround on all four sides by pent roof extensions. Located nearby are the church and former schoolhouse, now used as the preacher's dwelling, and the old cemetery.
