Cary is a town in Wake, Chatham, and Durham counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina and is part of the Raleigh-Cary, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the 2020 census, its population was 174,721, making it the seventh-most populous municipality in North Carolina, and the 148th-most populous in the United States. In 2022, the town's population had increased to 180,388.
Harold Weinbrecht is an American computer programmer and politician who has been the mayor of Cary, North Carolina since 2007.
John Norman Nelson was an Australian politician. Born in Bundaberg, Queensland, he was the son of politician Harold Nelson. Jock Nelson was educated at state schools in Darwin before becoming a jackeroo and goldminer, and later a bore contractor at Alice Springs. After serving in the military from 1942 to 1945, he became a pastoralist. In 1949, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Northern Territory, defeating the sitting independent, Adair Blain. At this time, the member for Northern Territory could only vote on matters relating to the Territory itself. In 1963, he was re-elected unopposed, the last occasion when a member was returned to the House of Representatives in this fashion. He retired in 1966, an occasion used by the Country Party to take the seat. Nelson returned to pastoralism and served as the first Mayor of Alice Springs before he stepped down to become the Administrator of the Northern Territory (1973–1975) before his death in 1991.

Daley over independent candidate Roland Burris, with 359,466 votes to Burris's 217,024. Daley won 60.1% of the total vote, winning by a landslide 24-point margin. The Republican candidate, Raymond Wardingley, fared poorly with only 2.8% of the vote. A fourth-place candidate, Harold Washington Party nominee Lawrence Redmond, won 0.9% of the votes.
Harold 'Cope' Copenhaver is an American politician and a Democratic former member of the Arkansas House of Representatives representing District 58 from 2013 to 2015, and the current mayor of Jonesboro, Arkansas. After being unseated by Republican challenger Brandt Smith in the 2014 GOP landslide in Arkansas, he went to work as a Senior Business Development officer for Centennial Bank in Jonesboro. In August 2016, Copenhaver announced that he would run for Mayor of Jonesboro, challenging two-term incumbent Harold Perrin. Copenhaver ran second to the two-term incumbent, but failed to pull enough votes to force a runoff. In November 2020, Copenhaver was elected mayor of Jonesboro with Perrin’s endorsement.
