The 2015 Dallas municipal election was an election to determine the mayor in Dallas, Texas. [1] The election day was May 9, 2015, [2] and if a runoff election had been required, it would have been held on June 13, 2015. [3] Incumbent Democratic Mayor Mike Rawlings ran and won re-election to a second term in office [4] against challengers Marcos Ronquillo, an attorney, [5] [6] and write-in candidate Richard Sheridan, a retired engineer and anti-gay government activist. [7] [8]
Six of the current 14 members of the City Council ran unopposed, but eight other seats were contested. Historically less than 10% of voters participate in Dallas City Council elections, [9] although 9 days of early voting were provided [10] from April 27 through May 5. The Dallas County Elections office has published a map of these polling locations for reference. [11]

Guadalupe Valdez is an American law enforcement official who served as Sheriff of Dallas County, Texas, from 2005 to 2017, and was the Democratic nominee for Governor of Texas in the 2018 gubernatorial election. She lost to the incumbent, Greg Abbott.
Eric Alan "Rick" Crawford is an American politician who has been the U.S. representative for Arkansas's 1st congressional district since 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. Before he was elected to Congress, Crawford was a radio announcer, businessman, and U.S. Army soldier.
Michael Scott Rawlings is an American businessman and politician who served as the 59th Mayor of Dallas, Texas. A member of the Democratic Party, he won the nonpartisan 2011 Dallas mayoral election defeating former Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle. He was reelected in 2015 by defeating Dallas lawyer Marcos Ronquillo.
The Dallas mayoral election of 2011 took place on May 14, 2011, to elect the successor to incumbent Mayor Tom Leppert. Leppert decided not to run for a second term, deciding to instead run for United States Senate in 2012. The race is officially nonpartisan. After no candidate received a majority of the votes, the top two candidates – Mike Rawlings and David Kunkle – faced each other in a runoff election on June 18, 2011 in which Rawlings prevailed.
Michael Ryan Caldwell is an American entrepreneur and the Mayor of Woodstock, Georgia. He is also the cofounder and the Partner for Operations and Business Development at Black Airplane, an award-winning digital product company headquartered in Woodstock, Georgia.

All of Texas's executive officers were up for election as well as a United States Senate seat, and all of Texas's thirty-six seats in the United States House of Representatives. Primary elections were held on March 4, 2014. Primary runoffs, required if no candidate wins a majority of the vote, were held on May 27, 2014. Elections were also held for the Texas legislature and proposition 1, seeking funds for Texas highways.

The election was held after the arrest of Mayor Lucie Tonderou earlier in 2014. Smith Joseph was elected after a runoff election between him and former mayor Kevin Burns. The first round was held on August 26, 2014.
The 2012 Miami-Dade County mayoral election took place on August 14, 2012. Incumbent Mayor Carlos A. Giménez defeated County Commissioner Joe Martinez with over 50% of the vote, avoiding a November 6 runoff. The election was officially nonpartisan.

On May 4, 2019, the city of Dallas, Texas, held an election to choose the next Mayor of Dallas. The election began as a nonpartisan blanket primary, no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote so the two top vote-earners Eric Johnson and Scott Griggs advanced to a runoff election on June 8. Incumbent mayor Mike Rawlings was unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Dallas also concurrently elected all 14 members of its city council, and 3 of the 9 total members of the Dallas Independent School District. Johnson won the runoff with 55.61%.

At least three special elections to the United States Congress were scheduled as either deaths or vacancies arose. The Democratic Party retained control of the governorship in Kentucky, flipped the Wisconsin Supreme Court and held a seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, gained five seats in the New Jersey General Assembly, and won back unified control of the Virginia General Assembly, while Republicans also flipped the governorship in Louisiana and narrowly retained Mississippi's governorship. The election cycle also saw Ohio voting to enshrine abortion rights to the state constitution and legalized cannabis. The results were widely seen as a success for the Democratic Party.

The 2021 Dallas City Council election will determine all 14 city council members in Dallas, Texas. The election occurred on May 1, 2021. By law, Dallas municipal elections are nonpartisan. In races where no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote, the two top vote-earners advanced to a runoff election. Due to term limits, council members are limited to serving four consecutive terms.
The 2021 Plano municipal elections took place on May 1, 2021. In addition to the mayoral election, seats were contested for Places 2, 4, and 8, as well as a special election for Place 7. No candidate received a majority of the total vote in Places 2 and 7, so the two top vote-earners advanced to a runoff election. This election took place on June 5, 2021. Due to term limits, incumbent mayor Harry LaRosiliere was ineligible to run for a third term.
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Arkansas on November 8, 2022. All of Arkansas' executive officers were up for election as well as all four of the state's seats in the United States House of Representatives and a U.S. senator. Primaries were held on May 24, 2022, with runoff primaries on June 21. Polls were open from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM CST.
Elections are currently held every four years to elect the Mayor of Plano, Texas. Since 1884, the Mayor of Plano had been serving two year terms. The term length was changed to 3 years in 2006, and again to 4 years in 2011.
