The 2020 Corpus Christi mayoral election was held on November 3, 2020 to elect the mayor of Corpus Christi, Texas. Because the general election did not produce a winner (elections for the mayoralty of Corpus Christi require a majority), a runoff was held on December 15, 2020.
Incumbent one-term mayor Joe McComb was defeated by city councilwoman Paulette Guajardo.

Corpus Christi is a coastal city in the South Texas region of the U.S. state of Texas and the county seat and largest city of Nueces County. Portions of the city also extend into Aransas, Kleberg, and San Patricio counties. It is 130 miles (210 km) southeast of San Antonio and 208 miles (335 km) southwest of Houston. Its political boundaries encompass Nueces Bay and Corpus Christi Bay. Its zoned boundaries include small land parcels or water inlets of three neighboring counties.
Solomon Porfirio Ortiz is an American former politician who served as the U.S. representative for Texas's 27th congressional district, based in Corpus Christi, serving from 1983 until 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party. In 2010, Ortiz was narrowly defeated by Republican challenger Blake Farenthold. Ortiz's son, Solomon Ortiz, Jr., is a former state representative.

On May 4, 2019, the city of San Antonio, Texas held an election to choose the next mayor of San Antonio. The election was a nonpartisan blanket primary. As no candidate secured a majority of the vote, a runoff was held on June 8, 2019, between the two top candidates, incumbent mayor Ron Nirenberg and San Antonio City Councilman Greg Brockhouse. In the runoff, Nirenberg narrowly defeated Brockhouse, 51.11% to 48.89%.
Joe McComb is an American businessman and politician who served as the mayor of Corpus Christi, Texas from 2017 to 2021. McComb had previously served on the city council and as a Nueces County Commissioner. Prior to entering politics, McComb had run his moving business. He is a member of the Republican Party. After Dan McQueen's resignation, McComb was elected to serve out the remainder of his term in a special election. He was elected to serve a full two-year term in the 2018 Corpus Christi mayoral election.
