The 2020 Ohio general elections were held on November 3, 2020 throughout the US state of Ohio. The office of the Ohio Secretary of State oversees the election process, including voting and vote counting. [1]

Contents

To vote by mail, registered Ohio voters must have requested a ballot by October 31, 2020. [2] As of early October some 2,112,685 voters have requested mail ballots. [3]

Trump won 53.3% compared to Biden's 45.2%

Senate

There is no U.S. Senate election in Ohio in 2020. Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown was elected in 2018, and incumbent Republican Senator Rob Portman retired and was replaced by Republican J.D. Vance in 2022.

House of Representatives

All of Ohio's 16 seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for election in 2020. Ohio's delegation to the United States House of Representatives remained at 12 Republicans and 4 Democrats.

The Supreme Court of the State of Ohio is the highest court in the U.S. state of Ohio, with final authority over interpretations of Ohio law and the Ohio Constitution. The court has seven members, a chief justice and six associate justices, who are elected at large by the voters of Ohio for six-year terms. The court has a total of 1,550 other employees. She is currently an associate justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, a position to which she was elected after serving as a judge on the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. A member of the Democratic Party, Brunner also served one term as Ohio Secretary of State from 2007 to 2011 and unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate in 2010. Prior to being elected Secretary of State, Brunner worked in the Ohio Secretary of State's Office and served as a County Judge in Franklin County, Ohio.

Kansas state elections in 2020 were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The deadline to register to vote was October 13, 2020. Early voting began October 14, 2020. Voters in Kansas are eligible to vote absentee, and there are no special eligibility criteria for doing so. Absentee ballots must be returned and received before November 2, 2020.
