The 2019 Fort Worth mayoral election took place on May 4, 2019, to elect the mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. The election was officially non-partisan.
Betsy Price, who was serving her fourth term, ran for reelection. [1] [2] Deborah Peoples, the chair of the Tarrant County Democratic Party, ran as a challenger. [3]
Price handily won re-election with just under 56% of the vote. She won a record fifth term as mayor of Fort Worth.

Atatiana Koquice Jefferson, a 28-year-old woman, was fatally shot inside her home by a police officer in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, in the early morning of October 12, 2019. Police arrived at her home after a neighbor called a non-emergency number, stating that Jefferson's front door was open. Police body camera footage showed officers walking outside the home with flashlights for a few minutes then one officer yells, "Put your hands up! Show me your hands!", while discharging his weapon through a window. Police found a handgun near Jefferson's body, which according to her eight-year-old nephew, she was pointing toward the window before being shot. On October 14, 2019, Officer Aaron Dean, the shooter, resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department and was arrested on a murder charge. On December 20, 2019, Dean was indicted for murder. Jefferson was black and the officer who shot her is white, prompting news outlets to compare Jefferson's shooting to the September 2018 murder of Botham Jean in nearby Dallas.

The 2021 Fort Worth mayoral election was held on Saturday, May 1, 2021, to decide the mayor of Fort Worth, Texas. Incumbent mayor Betsy Price, who had served as the city's mayor since 2011, announced on January 6, 2021, that she would not seek a sixth term. Ten candidates ran in the primary election. Early voting in person began on April 19, 2021. Since no candidate received a majority of the vote on May 1, the top two finishers, Democrat Deborah Peoples and Republican Mattie Parker, advanced to a June 5, 2021, runoff election. Parker won the runoff and was elected mayor.

She was elected in 2021 after serving as Chief of Staff for the Mayor and the Fort Worth City Council for five years. She is one of the youngest mayors of a major American city in U.S. history. After coming in second place in the first round of voting in May, Parker faced off against Deborah Peoples, the Tarrant County Democratic Party chair, in the run-off election on June 5, 2021. Parker received 53.5% of the vote in the nominally non-partisan election.
